LEE USA SPEEDWAY RESULTS FOR FRIDAY, JUNE 20th

Lee, NH – Another exciting Friday night program of weekly NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action at Lee USA Speedway took the green flag on Friday night with a pre-race autograph session, spectator drags, the S.T.A.R. vintage racers, and the annual “Scout Night” among the added attractions.

Double features were on tap for the EKeys 4Cars Supermodifieds, and it was Mike Spurling of nearby Rochester getting the job done in the first 30-lapper, jumping out from the pole and leading flag to flag to pick up his first main event win of the 2014 campaign over Candia’s Jake Stergios and defending champ Tommy Tombarello, Jr. of Haverhill, MA

In the nightcap, Groveland, MA’s Mike Murphy looked to be well on his way to victory as he led well past the halfway mark, but rookie competitor Lance Barthelemy snuck past to take over the lead late in the race, and the Fremont driver held off a hard-charging Stergios to score career win number on in the Supermodified ranks. DEFENDING NASCAR TRUCK SERIES CHAMPION MATT CRAFTON ENTERS IWK 250

JAMES RIVER, NS (June 10, 2014) – For the second straight year the IWK 250 presented by Steve Lewis Auto Body has attracted a NASCAR national series champion. Defending NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NTS) champion Matt Crafton will be at Riverside International Speedway July 19 for Canada’s biggest short track stock car race.

“I can’t get enough short track racing,” said Crafton, driver of the ThorSport Racing No. 88 Menards Toyota Tundra. “Our series (NTS) races a bunch of big facilities but there is just something about a cozy little short track like Riverside on a Saturday night that brings back a lot of great memories of where we came from, and at the same time gives us a chance to see some of the kids that may make their name in our sport in the future.”
