Epping, NH –Derek Griffith made his debut in the Pro All Star Series (PASS) on Saturday, May 10th and learned what it meant to race with some of the best drivers in the Northeast.
The Hudson, NH native tried out the waters on the very competitive Super Late Model series and came home with a very respectable 16th place finish. Starting 20th on the grid allowed Griffith to lay back and observe the racing ahead, all while devising their plan of attack for the later stages of the race.
Griffith was able to get the MOM’S of Manchester/LCM Racing/Tyngsboro Toyota Camry up in the top fifteen pretty quickly and was holding in own in fourteenth spot and then he was in an altercation which caused a caution to wave. Upon the restart, Griffith was working way through traffic and got as high as eleventh position before a miscommunication from track officials to Derek; while under yellow caused the young driver to go in to the pit area.

Andy Lindeman showed yet again why he is a five time New England Truck Series champion by driving away from the field en route to his first victory of 2014. It was his first victory in the series in two years, and breaks the Monadnock winning streak of Duane Noll, who had won every NETS event at the 1/4 mile high banked speedway for the past two seasons.
Corey Coates started the race on the pole, but outside pole sitter Burt Ouelette got the advantage at the start of the event and moved to an early lead. Lindeman, who started third, was able to move by Coates for second and ran down Ouelette to challenge for the lead by the halfway point. Lindeman moved alongside down the backstretch and took the lead on lap 12, before driving off from the rest of the field on his way to victory. Ouelette would finish second, with Alan Coates and Duane Noll finishing side-by-side for third, and Corey Coates fifth.

Walpole, NH- With one race already in the books for the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS), competitors are preparing for a date with Monadnock Speedway May 24.
The ¼ mile bullring is located in Winchester, NH, and has been host to four events in the early life of the GSPSS, and creates tight, door-to-door battles and good, hard racing. Drivers like Barry Gray and Matt Frahm are no stranger to this speedway, as both have picked up wins in the series at this facility.
To say Gray could drive Monadnock Speedway with his eyes closed may not be a huge stretch for the Belchertown, MA driver. Gray has at least 6 championships between Late Models and Pro Stocks at Monadnock, including a New Hampshire State Championship involving the Winchester, NH speedway and Twin State Speedway in Claremont, NH. Gray has two wins at Monadnock with the GSPSS, and has finished outside the top 10 once in four starts, boasting an average feature finish of 5.5. The driver of the Meadows Motor Car/ Hawley’s Auto Repair Chevrolet looks to this track to surge forward in the standings. “There’s so many good competitors in this series, it’s going to be tough no matter where we go,” Gray states. “But our chances are better than average at Monadnock, as long as luck is on our side.”

LEE, NH- A new event that promises to bring New Hampshire’s Center of Speed, the Lee USA Speedway, its highest car count and biggest payday of the season, currently estimated at $44,000 is only three plus weeks away.
A field of close to 40 Tour-Type Modified teams will tow in from roughly ten different states for the 1st annual 100-lap, “Bullring Bash Powered by Sunoco” on Sunday, May 11. One of very few drivers competing in this event that has called Lee home is Mike Douglas Jr., from Auburn, N.H.
“That’s where I started and kind of where I grew up watching Supermodifieds,” began the 34-year-old, who races a Spafco Chassis Modified at the nearby Star Speedway. “I got my first ever race win at Lee in a Hobby Stock so this event definitely holds special meaning to me.”
Douglas will be among the ‘underdogs’ so to speak, because there will be a host of champion drivers vying for the $5,000-to-win prize plus lap money and contingencies. Verbal entries have come from names like Rocco, Christopher, Preece, Hinckley, McKennedy, Hirschman, Bonsignore, Barrett, Masse, Jankowiak and Seuss to name just a few.
