Harrison Burton Hoping To Continue Family Tradition At South Boston This Weekend

12 Burton and 7 ChurchCHARLOTTE, NC (June 3) – For second generation racer Harrison Burton, this Saturday night’s 150 lapper at South Boston Speedway for the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model has special meaning. It will be the first time the younger Burton has ever competed at the speedway that helped make his father, Jeff, and uncle, Ward, famous. Although Harrison lives in Huntersville, NC, it is not lost on him what South Boston Speedway has meant to the Burton family.

“South Boston Speedway is where my family started racing stock cars and it’s definitely got a lot of history for us,” said Burton, driver of the Dex Imaging/Morton Builders/Cessna #12 Chevrolet. “I can’t wait to add to that history and possibly get a PASS win there.”

Red hot DJ Shaw picked up his third consecutive PASS North win this past Saturday night in the Littleton Chevrolet 150 at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, New Hampshire.

Glen Luce and Joey Polewarcyzk brought the twenty-four car field to the green flag, and the race was on. Luce jumped to the point and held the lead til lap 76 when Joey Pole tangled with a lapped car bringing out the first caution of the night.

On the ensuing restart, Luce and Richie Dearborn made up the front row with Jeremy Davis, DJ Shaw and Travis Stearns rounding out the top five. At the drop of the green, the front row got together sending Dearborn #33 hard into the front stretch wall and Luce spinning in turn one. Dearborn was unhurt but his car was finished for the night.

Hemric In Right Place At Right Time For 3rd PASS South Win At Southern National

PASS SouthLUCAMA, NC (May 31) – Daniel Hemric took advantage of late race contact between leaders Preston Peltier and Trevor Noles to secure his third Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model win of the season in Saturday night’s Dogwood Blossom 150 at Southern National Motorsports Park. All three of Hemric’s PASS South triumphs this year have come after late race rallies that have seen him take the lead with 12 or fewer laps left to go in each race.

“Without a little luck on your side you can never get one of these things, these races are so hard to win now,” said Hemric, after becoming the first multiple time winner in 7 PASS South events at Southern National. “The cautions fell right so we could show the fans what we had left. It’s just an honor to be a part of this deal and hopefully we can come back and do it again soon.”

PASS South Hopefuls Ready For Return To Southern National

PASS South Hopefuls Ready For Return To Southern National

PASS South Hopefuls Ready For Return To Southern NationalCHARLOTTE, NC (May 21) – After successfully returning to Southern National Motorsports Park in Kenly, NC last year, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Models are ready to once again hit the high banks on Saturday, May 31 for the 2nd Annual Dogwood Blossom 150. This year, teams return to Southern National with a hefty notebook to rely on full of data acquired in the series’ four trips to the track in 2013.

Wallkill, NY’s Tyler Dippel is especially looking forward to returning to Southern National for the Dogwood Blossom 150. After competing on a very limited basis with the PASS South Super Late Models last year, the 14-year-old Empire State driver heads back to Southern National Motorsports Park where he qualified in the top 10 for last year’s season-ending Mason Dixon Meltdown. And that’s significant for the young driver. Southern National will be the first return trip for Dippel of any of the tracks he has competed on while racing in PASS South.
