Hoar In Search of Record Third Lee Victory
Waterbury, VT – 2013’s American Canadian Tour Season Opener on April 13/14 will mark the 23rd ACT event at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, NH – and the 14th Season opener at the track – giving today’s drivers a chance at being a part of a storied history at Lee USA Speedway with the American Canadian Tour.
Lee USA served as the home for the ACT season opener in 1987 – the 2nd full season of the American Canadian Tour – and saw legend Beaver Dragon take the victory. Dragon wasn’t the only driver to kick off a season with a win at Lee though, as stars like Robbie Crouch, Jean-Paul Cabana, Russ Urlin, Dave Dion, Kevin Lepage, and Ralph Nason won them too, cementing their names into the long-standing history of Lee and the American Canadian Tour. Prestigious ACT event and NASCAR Whelen All-American Series kick off schedule
WEST HAVEN, VT – Spring in Vermont is a beautiful time of year. New flowers bloom in the meadows, birds chirp away, and the aroma of fresh-cut grass hangs in the breeze. With as many as 40 roaring Late Model cars expected to attempt qualifying for the 113-lap main event – one of the American-Canadian Tour’s oldest and most prestigious races – the season definitely comes in like a lion at Devil’s Bowl. Lynch Joins Série ACT Castrol as Chief Steward
Waterbury, VT – American Canadian Tour officials have announced the hiring of several new officials across the Série ACT Castrol, Thunder Road, and the American Canadian Tour for the 2013 season.
The overhaul is headlined by the hiring of former Kawartha Speedway (ON) manager Derek Lynch as the Chief Steward of the Série ACT Castrol. Lynch started racing with ACT at just 17 years old in the late 1980s, and had won the Oxford 250 before heading to the NASCAR Busch North Series. His career eventually led him to Charlotte, NC, where he worked in fabrication for Darrell Waltrip racing. In 2000, he married Cait Curley, daughter of long-time Thunder Road promoter Tom Curley, and took over management at Kawartha Speedway. He left Kawartha at the end of last season.
