Numerous championships represented in season opening event
Stock car racing fans around New England will be greeted with some of the most recognizable names in Pro Stock racing when the Granite State Pro Stock Series begins the 2012 season at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, NH for the David’s House 106 presented by Fenton Family Dealerships.
Barry Gray of Belchertown, MA will head the list of the recognizable line-up of drivers participating in the David’s House 106. Gray is a multi-time track champion at Monadnock Speedway and a champion at the former Riverside Park in Agawam, MA. Gray was in contention to win the inaugural Granite State Pro Stock Series event last year before being involved in a late race incident.

With the 2012 race season just around the corner the GSPSS has announced that they will hold there spring meeting at 10:00am on Saturday April 14th at Monadnock Speedway, followed by an open practice session from 12:00 to 5:00pm. The meeting will be a final chance to ask questions and to see what we have in store for the 2012 season. Driver memberships, rules and race procedures will be available. The GSPSS will also announce the Schedule for the day’s events for the David’s House 106 as well as the purse structure for the event. GSPSS president Mike Parks stated it was decided to have our spring meeting the day of practice in order to help the teams with a little bit of traveling expense, with the help of Monadnock Speedway we will hold our meeting in there VIP Suite before practice gets started. Canaan NH. – As the 2012 race season nears, the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) driver roster continues to grow. ‘We are very excited with the support we are receiving from the race teams” stated GSPSS president Mike Parks. As of today we have 24 teams registered and we believe there are still more to come. Multi time Track Champions Babe Branscombe and Barry Gray head the list of recent registered teams, along with Modified Racing Series stand out Les Hinckley making his return to full fendered racing. Strong competitors from all over New England have stated intent to follow the tour this season. Drivers like: Mike O Sullivan, Fran Colson, Mike Parks, Chris Wilk, and Bryon Baker along with veterans like Dennis Maxfield, Richie Eaton, Jake Vanada and Steve Gauthier. With this strong support the 2012 GSPSS season has nothing but promise. We continue to receive calls all the time regarding the upcoming season, and we are still working on securing more race dates. The Goal of the GSPSS was to have 12 events but at this point its looking like it will end up around 8, which is fantastic for the inaugural season. The series kicks off with the David’s House 106 on May 26th at Winchester NH’s Monadnock Speedway with an expected purse exceeding $15,000 and a full field of the region’s best Pro Stock teams in action! Jeff Taylor, owner of Distance Racing Products has signed with the Granite State
Pro Stock Series and will construct a new 2012 pro stock chassis to award to a lucky competitor on the
series.
