Daytona Beach, Florida’s Ben Kennedy scored his first-ever NASCAR K&N Pro Series East victory on April 13, 2013 in the NAPA 150 at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida.
Grimes, IA – Brett Moffitt, driver of the #11 Don Valley North Toyota Scion Toyota for Hattori Racing Enterprises (HRE) qualified on the pole for the Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150 presented by G-Clean. This was Moffitt’s ninth career pole award, his third from Greenville Pickens Speedway in Greenville, SC, and his first pole of the 2013 season. Moffitt also claimed a solid 5th place finish, bringing his driver statistics to 36 top-ten finishes out of 49 career starts.
Running on the flat asphalt of Greenville required significant changes in set up after the high banks of Bristol, where the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East ran the previous race. The #11 HRE team had prepared a great car, and they brought it to the track ready to race. Moffitt was fast in both practice sessions. The #11 HRE Toyota Camry finished the first practice session in third place, and Moffitt had the fastest car on the track during the final practice of the day, outpacing the rest of the field by .098 seconds. “The car is right where we need to be for qualifying,” said Moffitt as the final practice wound down. Qualifying results later confirmed Moffitt’s comments. (more…)
When the green flags waves to open the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season at Bristol Motor Speedway on March 16, Eddie MacDonald and the entire Grimm Racing team will have added meaning for the event. The #71 will proudly display the National Multiple Sclerosis Society logo on the rear quarter panels in support of MS Awareness Week running March 11-17 during the Bristol 125 on “The World’s Fastest Half Mile.” This disease recently hit close to home in the Grimm Racing family when Megan Spaulding, the daughter of team owners Karla and Rob Grimm, was diagnosed with MS.
“Rob and Karla have been so supportive of our racing efforts, it’s time for our entire race team and fans to support them and Megan at this time,” said the veteran driver. “We have been working very hard to prepare our new car for Bristol to run well and set the tone for the season. Now we are more determined to have a great finish for Megan and raise awareness for MS. Like many people, we knew of the disease but knew little about it. Now that it has affected a member of our family, we will do whatever we can to help.” (more…)

Grimes, IA – Brett Moffitt, driver of the Hattori Racing Enterprises (HRE) #11 Kobe Toyopet Toyota Camry, scored another top-ten finish at Greenville-Pickens Speedway on Saturday, October 27th, in the rain-delayed Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 140, crossing the finish line in 8th place after getting caught up in a last lap wreck.
Crew Chief Dave McCarty and the #11 HRE team unloaded a strong car on Saturday morning. During practice Moffitt radioed the team, “The car is amazing off. It’s a little snug in the middle, but the bite off is wonderful, and it should be great at the end.” By the conclusion of the practice session, Moffitt was very satisfied with his car. “We were really balanced by the end of practice. We were actually very good on the first run, and the team kept making small changes to fine-tune the car, so we know we have a fast car for the race,” he stated. (more…)
