LAS VEGAS – Ricky Stenhouse Jr. dominated the last 50 laps of Saturday’s Sam’s Town 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, pulling away from Mark Martin during a 39-lap green flag run the finish.

The victory was Stenhouse’s first of the season and third in the series — and his first on a 1.5-mile intermediate speedway, the staple of NASCAR’s top three touring series.

Brett Moffitt to Drive 2nd Car for Hattori Racing Enterprises in K&N East Series

Mooresville, NC – Brett Moffitt has been named driver of the #11 Toyota Camry for Hattori Racing Enterprises for the 2012 NASCAR K & N Pro Series East.

Moffitt, a 20-year old Grimes, Iowa native will enter his 4th season on the K & N Pro Series East in 2012. He drove for Michael Waltrip Racing last season , and for Joe Gibbs Racing in 2010. In his rookie season, Moffitt drove for Andy Santerre Motorsports. His stats are impressive, in 34 starts, Moffitt has earned an seven wins, four pole positions, 20 top-5 and 25 top-10 finishes. Even more impressive is he has never finished worse than 3rd in the Championship points standings.

Kenseth holds off Earnhardt Jr. and survives to win bizarre Daytona 500

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Finally, nothing out of the ordinary happened.

In a Daytona 500 that featured the first postponement in its history, a ball of fire from a racecar vs. jet dryer collision under caution and a surfeit of wild action in the closing laps, Matt Kenseth won his second Daytona 500 when the tandem of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Greg Biffle couldn’t catch the race winner in a green-white-checkered-flag finish.

Earnhardt made a slingshot move around Greg Biffle to run second in the 54th running of the Great American Race at Daytona International Speedway. Biffle came home third, followed by Denny Hamlin and Jeff Burton, as a late caution necessitated two extra laps beyond the scheduled 200.
