ART BARRY AND JUSTIN BONSIGNOREThompson, CT. — From day one, 26-year old Justin Bonsignore, of Holtsville, NY, let it be known he intended to compete for a championship. He wanted to produce another title for noted car owner/builder Art Barry, of Preston CT.

Bonsignore made it happen Saturday night when he wheeled the Spearpoint Racing/Spafco Modified to a 14th place finish in the VMRS 75-lap season finale at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, Thompson, CT. The result. The 2014 Valenti Modified Racing Series Championship.

Caleb Holman Crowned Fastest Chicken in the South and Pro Cup Series Championship at Hickory

jwhowietwMooresville, NC 10/20/14- Caleb Holman was hands down the fastest chicken in the South Saturday night at Hickory Motor Speedway. The veteran driver won the Bojangles 250 after pulling away from fourteen year old Todd Gilliland, son of NASCAR Cup driver David Gilliland, in the final seventy-five laps of the event to take home the hardware. The visit to Edelbrock Victory Lane was his sixth trip this season in twelve events.

Christopher Bell Makes Impressive Debut With PASS South Win At Orange County

ATT00001ROUGEMONT, NC (October 18) – Making only his second start in an asphalt stock car, Oklahoma’s Christopher Bell dominated the second half of the Orange County 150 presented by CV Products Saturday night at Orange County Speedway for his first career Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model win. The victory was the second of the 2014 PASS season for the Kyle Busch Motorsports team to go along with a win by Busch at Canada’s Autodrome Chaudiere in August.

Will the brawls improve TV ratings and selling tickets?

The brawls following the Charlotte Motor Speedway Chase race was the result of the heat being turned up on the drivers to stay in The Chase. With Talladega coming up this weekend, there could be a lot more fists flying. Here’s what it looks like going into Degga: Logano, Kyle Busch, Charlotte winner Harvick, Newman, Edwards, Gordon, Hamlin and Kahne are the top eight. After Talladega: Kenseth, Kaselowski, Johnson and Junior could be eliminated.

We’ve seen sports news reports that the Los Angeles mayor expects to announcement that a new NFL franchise will add a team to his city very soon. We know that NASCAR CEO Brian France has stated that he’d like to be part of that management team. Considering that Brian has signed two big NASCAR TV rights contracts, a move by NASCAR’s chief executive now may be the right time for him. He’ll leave NASCAR with big TV rights money for several years. Unfortunately, the TV ratings for The Chase to the Nextel Cup, his creation, haven’t kept pace with the money increase courtesy of Fox and the NBC sports networks.
