EAST MONTPELIER, Vt. – Emily Packard of East Montpelier, Vt., opens the 2013 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series with a 35-lap Late Model feature event at Canaan Fair Speedway in Canaan, N.H., on Saturday, May 18. The 16-year-old Late Model driver won the track’s Rookie of the Year title in 2012, finishing fourth in the overall NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model standings to ACT Late Model Tour champion Wayne Helliwell Jr. Packard has said her goal this year is to win the track championship at the track she calls home.

GEORGIA, Vt. – Eight-time ACT Late Model Tour champion Brian Hoar of Williston, Vt., attempts to add to his impressive Airborne Speedway resume when the ACT Late Model Tour heads to the Airborne 100 in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Saturday, May 18. Hoar has a series-record seven career wins at a track where he began his racing career in weekly competition, and the driver of the RPM Motorsports No. 37 GossCars.com Dodge Charger has 38 career ACT victories in all. This marks Hoar’s final Tour race before he plans to take a break from racing until later this summer as the veteran driver scales back to a part-time schedule in 2013.

Pennink Looks To Continue Thompson Success This Sunday

Canaan, NH. — Huntingdon Valley, PA, modified driver Rowan Pennink knows the way to victory lane at Thompson International Speedway. He’s won three races at the famed Connecticut oval and will be looking for his second straight win there when the Valenti Modified Racing Series swings into Thompson, this Sunday afternoon, May 19, for the first of three scheduled 75-lap events this season. Pennink won the May and October races last year.
