ACT Wraps Up Season with Doubleheader Weekend

ACT Tour RacingWaterbury, VT – For the first time in American Canadian Tour Late Model history, the season will come to a close with a doubleheader weekend. The ACT Tour, Série ACT Castrol and Bond/WIX Tiger Tour point battles will conclude on Saturday, October 8 with the Rent-A-Wreck Fall Foliage 200 at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY. With the tours completed, many teams will head to Thunder Road in Barre, VT for the 49th Annual People’s United Bank Milk Bowl on Sunday, October 9, rain dated from October 2.

Williston, VT’s Brian Hoar will look to conclude his eighth ACT championship season with a third career win in the Rent-A-Wreck Fall Foliage 200. Patrick Laperle of St-Denis, QC will wrap up his second Série ACT Castrol Championship as he attempts to win his fourth straight Fall Foliage event. Randy Potter, Joey Polewarczyk, Jr., and Brent Dragon will be looking for their first wins of the season, while Wayne Helliwell, Jr., Austin Theriault, Ben Ashline and Glen Luce among others will look for their first career ACT wins.

PENALTIES ANNOUNCED FROM OCT. 1-OCT. 2 CARQUEST FALL FINAL PROGRAM AT STAFFORD MOTOR SPEEDWAY

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Motor Speedway has announced the following
penalties following the running of the October 1-October 2 CARQUEST Fall
Final Weekend NASCAR Whelen All-American Series feature events.

Woody Pitkat, driver of the No. 88 Late Model, and Ryan Posocco, driver of
the No. 48 Late Model, have been penalized for a rules violation committed
this past Sunday in the Late Model feature at Stafford Motor Speedway.

FOURTH PLACE FINISH FOR EDDIE MACDONALD AT DOVER

NASCAR K&N Pro SeriesEddie MacDonald and the Grimm Racing Team closed out the K&N Pro Series East schedule with an impressive fourth place finish in the Dover 150 at the Dover International Speedway. After “terrible” practice and qualifying sessions, the #71 Grimm Construction Chevy fought its way from a 26th starting position to post its second top five run in the final two events of the season.

Kurt Busch Holds Off Jimmie Johnson For Dover Cup Win

NASCAR Sprint CupDOVER, Del.—Thank you, Kurt Busch said, after screw-ups by Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards put Busch in position to win Sunday’s AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway.

While Busch celebrated his second victory of the season and the 24th of his career in victory lane at the Monster Mile, runner-up Johnson and third-place Edwards sat in the nearby media center castigating themselves in the postrace news conference.

Hornaday prevails at Kentucky, gets 50th truck win

SPARTA, Ky.—Ron Hornaday Jr. scored a milestone 50th NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win Saturday in the Kentucky 225 on a cold night of racing at Kentucky Speedway.

Hornaday held off the late-race charges of runner-up and polesitter Austin Dillon during the final 10 laps. Dillon, who protected his lead in the series points standings, pulled to within two-tenths of a second of Hornaday but could get no closer.

Carl Edwards Cruises To Nationwide Win At Dover

NASCAR Nationwide SeriesDOVER, Del.—Carl Edwards pulled away from Brad Keselowski and Clint Bowyer after a restart on Lap 168 of 200 to win Saturday’s OneMain Financial 200 Nationwide Series race at Dover International Speedway.

The victory was Edwards’ seventh of the year and the 36th of his career. Keselowski held off Bowyer in the closing laps to claim the runner-up position, with Bowyer running third.
