Truex Jr. Runner-up in Las Vegas; Moves to 4th in Driver Points

hfghfgLAS VEGAS (March 8, 2015) — Martin Truex Jr. came on strong to finish second in Sunday’s Kobalt 400 Sprint Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The runner-up result gave Truex his third straight top-10 and moved him from fifth to fourth in the driver point standings. It was also his best finish since joining Furniture Row Racing following the 2013 season.

Smith Finishes 16th at Las Vegas

rhfhfgRegan Smith, interim driver of the No. 41 Haas Automation Chevrolet SS for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR), appeared to have a racecar capable of posting a top-five finish in the Kobalt 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, but a pit road speeding penalty proved too costly to overcome. Despite the setback, he was able to rally for a 16th-place finish.

Lincoln Tech of East Windsor Returns to Stafford as Title Sponsor of Back 2 SK®ool Blitz on August 28

jdgsdigs(Stafford Springs, CT)—Lincoln Tech of East Windsor will once again be a member of the family of Stafford Speedway sponsors during the 2015 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season. Lincoln Tech began their relationship with Stafford in 2010 as the title sponsor of the track’s extra distance Late Model feature event and then became the title sponsor of a Modified Racing Series event from 2011-2014. The 2015 season will see Lincoln Tech shift their sponsorship from the MRS race to the Back to SK®ool Blitz event that will take place on Friday, Aug. 28th. For this event, all kids 14 and under will be admitted free of charge if they wear a team shirt or uniform to the track that night.
“This will be our 6th year as a race sponsor at Stafford, and we feel like we’re part of the family,” said Rob Wargo, Eastern Connecticut High School Admissions Reps for Lincoln Tech. “Since this event is a back to school event, it’s a perfect tie-in for us with our fall semester beginning on Sept. 28th. Every year no matter what we try to do with our race, Stafford always does what they can to help us out so kudos to the Arute family. We’ve never heard no from the track and we love coming back to the track.”

Honda Performance Development Unveils 2015 Aero Kit Design

(March 9, 2015) – The much-anticipated unveiling of the Honda aero kit took place Monday evening at a reception attended by principals from Honda Performance Development, American Honda and INDYCAR. Defending Indianapolis 500 winner Ryan Hunter-Reay, who drove for a bulk of the on-track development, joined Honda executives in showcasing the base road/street course and short oval aero kit.
Steve Eriksen, vice president and COO of Honda Performance Development, said the introduction of aero kits to the Verizon IndyCar Series will usher in a new era in racing.

DILLON, SC (March 7) – Defending Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model Champion Tyler Church took the lead from Jody Measamer with 23 laps to go and withstood a late-race restart to win the 10th Annual South Carolina Clash 125 Saturday night at Dillon Motor Speedway. Earlier in the day, Church revealed that anything less than a win could prove to be a premature ending to the 2015 season for the family financed team.
“That was a wild race, that was tough,” said an emotional Church in victory lane. “We borrowed money against the house just so we could be here to race…and I’m going racing again. On that last restart I didn’t want to let up until I got back up front and, dadgum, we’ve come this far and I was going to win this race.”
