PASS South: Fifteen drivers race their way Into “THE RACE”
Five heat races highlight first ever night racing action at North Wilkesboro Speedway
With the top-15 drivers locked in to the show after qualifying earlier in the evening for the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South presented by JE Pistons and Roush Yates Performance Parts “THE RACE” on Friday, April 8th, the focus shifted to the five heat races to lock in 16th – 30th with the first-ever races under the lights at North Wilkesboro Speedway (NC). While Patrick Laperle, Ross Kenseth, Ryan Blaney, Jeff Choquette and Preston Peltier went to victory lane in the five 25-lap heat races, a total of 15 heat-race drivers added their names to the already-qualified list , bringing the locked in total to 30 for Saturday’s 300-lap event. FALMOUTH, Maine – There’s really only one reason that Mulkern Racing will field three cars in this week’s inaugural PASS-sanctioned “The Race” at North Wilkesboro Speedway.
The team wants a win.
“I don’t really look at it any different from any other race,” said team owner and driver of the No. 84 Community Pharmacies Dodge, Scott Mulkern. “Once you’re in the car, I’m in there to win whether it’s for a million dollars or one dollar. Joey Doiron of Berwick, Maine, joins drivers from two divisions for the PASS-sanctioned $75,000-to-win “The Race” at North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Wilkesboro, N.C., on Friday and Saturday, April 8-9. The reigning PASS North Series Rookie of the Year is guaranteed a starting spot in the lucrative event for both PASS North and PASS South Series teams. Doiron has never competed at the historic North Wilkesboro Speedway, which has sat nearly dormant since the last NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event there in 1995, though he and his family-owned Super Late Model team tested there last month.

Young Racer Uses Patience to Take Win at Dillon Motor Speedway
Dillon SC (4/2) The second race in the 2011 season for the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South presented by JE Pistons and Roush Yates Performance Products took place on Saturday, April 2nd at Dillon Motor Speedway (SC). The South Carolina Clash 150 was delayed by one week due to weather, but with no precipitation in the area, Ryan Blaney drove his way to victory lane at Dillon for the second year in a row.
21 of the 24 Super Late Model racers on hand answered the call for time trials. Heath Hindman looked like he was on his way to his first pole position of the year when he turned a 15.622-second lap but Jay Fogleman ripped off a 15.620, earning the pole position for the South Carolina Clash.
