Krawiec Wins Third Straight USAC DMA Feature at Bear Ridge Speedway

BRADFORD, VT – “Flatfoot” Joe Krawiec of Bristol, CT came from a ninth starting spot to win his third consecutive USAC Dirt Midget Association feature at Bear Ridge Speedway Saturday night. Going where angels fear to tread by running high and outside whenever traffic allowed, Krawiec dove to the inside on a mid-race restart to grab the lead and finish 1.8 seconds ahead of Scott Holcomb of Granby, CT. Veteran Pro Stock, Supermodified and NEMA Midget racer Jeff Horn of Hudson, MA was third, Hall of Famer Ray Miller was fourth and Dana Shaw, running his first full season in a Midget, continued to impress by finishing fifth. Midget vs. Sprint Car in Champions Challenge at Bear Ridge This Saturday

BRADFORD, VT – One of racing’s great questions – which is faster on a dirt short track, a Midget or a Sprint Car? – will be answered this Saturday night July 2 at Bear Ridge Speedway when a pair of champions go mano a mano in a two car match race.

Bradford, VT – Joe Krawiec of Bristol, CT used the outside groove to race through the pack from his tenth starting spot and claim his second consecutive USAC-Dirt Midget Association feature win at Bear Ridge Speedway. Krawiec held off a late race charge from teammate Kevin Chaffee of Fairlee, VT, who started ninth, giving car owner Skip Matczak his second consecutive one-two finish. Chaffee had an eventful night; in his heat race he flipped on the first lap, restarted seventh and finished second.

USAC DMA Midgets Return to Bear Ridge June 18;
July 2 Show Added; Hank Rogers, Jr. Joins DMA

BRADFORD, VT – Following their successful 15 car debut on May 28, the USAC Dirt Midget Association returns to Bear Ridge Speedway on June 18 for their second visit of the season.
Denny Zimmerman, the 1971 Indy 500 Rookie of the Year, was unable to make the opener because he was a guest of honor at the Indy 500, but he’ll be back behind the throttle of the Skip Matczak Midget that Kevin Chaffee drove to second place. Zimmerman plans to compete in all the remaining USAC DMA events at Bear Ridge this season.

BRADFORD, VT – The inaugural race of the USAC Dirt Midget Association at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, VT couldn’t have been any more dramatic if it had been scripted in advance. In his first time racing a Midget, home state hero and former Bear Ridge Coupe Champion Kevin Chaffee of Fairlee came within three laps of pulling off the upset of his career, only to see his hopes dashed by his teammate for the night, 2010 Whip City Speedway Midget Champion Joe Krawiec of Bristol.
