Devil’s Bowl Speedway Finale Postponed One Week by Rain

gksdjfafWEST HAVEN, VT – Devil’s Bowl Speedway’s final dirt track event of the season has been postponed by early morning rain showers and a poor forecast for the rest of the day on Saturday, October 18. The AutoSaver Ford/Springfield Buick-GMC “Vermont Freedom & Unity” event has been rescheduled to the following Saturday, October 25, with a start time of 2:00 p.m.

Sprint Cars Return to Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Saturday Following Successful Test

austin_1200WEST HAVEN, VT – The winged warriors of the Bond Auto Parts Sprint Cars of New England (SCoNE) tour will make their official debut at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Saturday, October 18, joining the AutoSaver Ford/Springfield Buick-GMC “Vermont Freedom & Unity” event. A successful test was completed by two teams on Wednesday, drawing rave reviews.

Lacey Hanson, a veteran of season seasons with the SCoNE series, and 16-year-old rookie Tyler Austin each turned laps in order to help gather information for their teams and competitors alike. For Hanson, whose team is based just 10 minutes from the track in Orwell, VT, it was a productive day.
“It was great. I was glad we got to come out and practice and see what the track is like,” she said. “I think it’s going to be a great show.”

Lt. Governor Scott Named Grand Marshal for Action Packed Devil’s Bowl Dirt Finale

Stratton Crowned “King of the Clay” in Popular Upset at Devil’s Bowl Speedway

IMG_7088WEST HAVEN, VT – Neil Stratton scored a major upset on Sunday night at Devil’s Bowl Speedway to become the winner of the inaugural “King of the Clay” race for Big Block and Small Block Modified stock cars. The Bennington, VT driver persevered through rough track conditions, then seized a golden opportunity to steal the win and the $5,000 top prize at the “Battle at the Bowl” dirt track series.

Tremont Survives for Devil’s Bowl Speedway Victory Before Packed House

dsdsafWEST HAVEN, VT – Kenny Tremont, Jr. ran what he called “the longest 50 laps of my life” at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Friday, September 26, but at the end of a grueling night he stood in the winner’s circle. Tremont survived to claim the LawPower.com Slate Valley Showdown presented by Interstate All Battery Center of Rutland, VT and the $1,000 winner’s prize in the opening round of the three-race “Battle at the Bowl” series – the first dirt track race held at the Vermont track in more than five years – before a massive grandstand crowd.

Tremont started 15th and used a survivalist strategy to get out of a wild start to the race, which saw half of the Sportsman Modified field eliminated in a series of multi-car pileups. The biggest crash occurred on lap 10 when five cars bunched up on the frontstretch, leaving Tim Hodge’s car upside down and Justin Comes’ machine peeled open like a sardine can; no injuries were sustained.

Racers Readying for Battle at the Bowl Dirt Track Series

213hfghfgWEST HAVEN, VT – The stock car racing community is abuzz with the highly anticipated three-race “Battle at the Bowl” series and the grand opening of a new one-third-mile dirt track at Vermont’s Devil’s Bowl Speedway. The “LawPower.com Slate Valley Showdown” event on Friday, September 26 at 7:00 p.m. will kick off a new dual-track era for the Rutland County facility.
