Season schedule, other announcements to be made at Banquet of Champions
RUTLAND, VT – Local stock car racers will be celebrated for their high-speed achievements on Saturday, February 1 at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway Banquet of Champions. The annual awards gala will be held at the Holiday Inn Rutland-Killington in Rutland, VT, honoring champions and top award winners from the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series and other divisions.
Todd Stone of Middlebury, VT will collect awards for his championship in the headline Bond Auto Parts Modified division, and crew chief Jeff Carter will be honored as the winner of the UNOH Ultimate Mechanic Challenge. Claremont, NH veteran Chris Bergeron will be toasted as the champion of the highly competitive Late Model division after a four-win campaign. Richie Turner of Fairfax, VT will collect top honors in the Renegade class, and Jake Noble of Benson, VT will be recognized for his title in the Central Vermont Motorcycles Mini Stocks.

Labor Day Classic replaces Governor’s Cup at Thunder Road
WEST HAVEN, VT – The four-race Vermont State Late Model Championship stock car series, which boasts an $11,000 point fund, will see changes in 2014. The series features four events split between Vermont’s only two paved oval speedways and will now include the Labor Day Classic at Barre’s Thunder Road on the schedule, instead of the Vermont Governor’s Cup as in years past.
The Vermont State Late Model Championship was created in 2012 and hosts two races each at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven and Thunder Road in Barre. Once again the series will kick off with the Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic 100 at Thunder Road on Sunday, May 25. The quarter-mile portion of the series will conclude with the Labor Day Classic 200 on Sunday, August 31. The Labor Day event will also be the final Thunder Road Late Model point-counting event for 2014.

Renegade, Mini Stock, Kart Series meetings to be held prior to Banquet of Champions
RUTLAND, VT – Informational meetings for stock car and go-kart competitors at Devil’s Bowl Speedway have been rescheduled for Saturday, February 1 at the Holiday Inn Rutland-Killington in Rutland, VT. The meetings were postponed from their original January date and have been slated to the afternoon prior to the Devil’s Bowl Speedway Banquet of Champions.
The “town meeting” style forum will be open to all race drivers and teams interested in competing in the developmental classes at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, VT in 2014. Times for the divisional meetings are as follows:
· Renegade – 12:00pm to 1:00pm
· Mini Stock – 1:00pm to 2:00pm
· Kart Series – 2:00pm to 3:30pm

Season pass pricing remains same for “Vermont’s Fastest Family Fun”
WEST HAVEN, VT – Devil’s Bowl Speedway has begun offering discount season passes for the 2014 stock car racing season – and just in time for the holidays. The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series will return to headline the weekly Friday night summer events at the asphalt half-mile track located in West Haven, VT just 20 minutes outside Rutland City.
General Admission season passes are available at no increase over last year’s pricing. The Adult Season Pass (age 13-61) remains at $190, while the Senior Season Pass (age 62+) remains $160. In addition to saving money from the race-day ticket price, season pass holders receive a 15-minute head start in selecting their grandstand seats at every event.
Devil’s Bowl Speedway is also rolling out sales of its new Gift Certificate, available in any amount and redeemable toward the purchase of any merchandise, apparel, race tickets, season passes, licenses, or other products – including race tires and race fuel.

RUTLAND, VT – Devil’s Bowl Speedway will toast top local stock car drivers from the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at its annual Banquet of Champions on Saturday, February 1, 2014. Among the competitors to be honored on stage are Rookie of the Year winners from each of the track’s four weekly racing classes. The Banquet of Champions will be at the Holiday Inn Rutland/Killington in Rutland, VT.
Twenty year-old Jamie LaFountain of Keeseville, NY will collect Rookie of the Year honors for his efforts in the headline Bond Auto Parts Modified division. LaFountain built a consistent record in his first year of racing at Devil’s Bowl, finishing in the Top 10 in nine of his 17 feature starts and taking 12th in the overall championship standings. He outdistanced Bruce Schwab and Emily Quinn for the freshman crown.

Top five drivers only 11 points apart entering 100-lap dirt track finale
CANAAN, NH – The inaugural Northern Modified Challenge Series stock car champion will emerge from a crowded group of star open-wheel short track drivers at Canaan Dirt Speedway on Saturday, October 19. The first-year series heads to its season finale with five drivers separated by only 11 points.
The Northern Modified Challenge Series, sanctioned by Devil’s Bowl Speedway, is unlike any other championship tour, utilizing center-seat, dirt-style Modified cars on both asphalt and dirt tracks. Three feature events have been contested on the series’ home track in West Haven, VT, an asphalt half-mile, with additional asphalt races at Thunder Road in Barre, VT in May and Canaan Fair Speedway in August. The finale will be run at Canaan Dirt Speedway – a flat, quarter-mile clay oval adjacent to the asphalt track.
