WEST HAVEN, VT – The grassroots have been replanted at Devil’s Bowl Speedway for the 2013 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series stock car racing season. The entry-level four-cylinder Mini Stock division has undergone a facelift during the winter and is expecting a wide-open championship chase.

Known in previous seasons as the “Bomber” division, the Mini Stock class is the starting point for many local racecar drivers. Cars that compete include Chevrolet Cavaliers, Honda Civics, Dodge Neons, and other American-made and import compact sedans. Modifications allow only for safety advancements and minor, inexpensive handling and mechanical improvements. Racing in the Mini Stock class is often intense with three-wide and even four-wide action sprinkled with metal-crunching crashes and rollovers. (more…)

Sixteen stock car racing events for “Vermont’s Fastest Family Fun”

WEST HAVEN, VT – Devil’s Bowl Speedway has announced its most exciting asphalt stock car racing schedule to date for the 2013 season.  Sixteen action-packed events will feature a different headline race at each outing, creating a summer full of dramatic door-to-door competition for the local stars of the weekly NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at the West Haven, VT half-mile oval.

The season opens on Sunday, May 5 at 1:30pm with the historic “Spring Green 113” for the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Models.  The 39th running of the Spring Green marks the third consecutive year that the event will be held at Devil’s Bowl; Wayne Helliwell, Jr., of Dover, NH posted the first victory of his ACT championship season in the 2012 event.  The race also opens the championship schedule for the open-wheel Bond Auto Parts Modifieds, the American-made, V8-powered Renegades, and the entry-level four-cylinder Mini Stocks of the weekly NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. Nine races make up second season; Inaugural trips to Devil’s Bowl, Riverside

CANAAN, NH — Granite State Pro Stock Series officials have announced a nine race schedule for the 2013 racing season that will see the Pro Stocks travel to six unique tracks in two New England states.

Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, VT will host the Granite State Pro Stock Series for the first time on Friday night, June 7. The progressively banked half-mile oval will see the Pro Stocks run for 100-laps on the largest track of the season. (more…)

WEST HAVEN, VT – A group of local stock car racers from Devil’s Bowl Speedway has been honored by the readers of the independent Vermont Motorsports Magazine news website during its annual “Driver of the Year” voting. Eleven drivers from the half-mile asphalt oval in West Haven, VT were nominated in seven categories on www.vtmotormag.com.

With over 23,000 total votes cast during the two-week balloting, Craig Bushey of Fairfax, VT was named the Devil’s Bowl Speedway Driver of the Year. Bushey took an impressive nine victories en route to winning the J&S Steel Late Model championship in 2012. Vince Quenneville, Jr., of Brandon, VT finished second in the category after a five-win season in the Bond Auto Parts Modified division, and Modified track champion Ron Proctor of Charlton, NY finished third in the vote. Local drivers recognized during NASCAR Whelen All-American Series banquet in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC – Local stock car drivers Ron Proctor and Vince Quenneville, Jr., were celebrated among the champions and top drivers of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series during NASCAR Champions Week in Charlotte, NC. Proctor and Quenneville were honored at the Crown Ballroom at the NASCAR Hall of Fame on Friday, December 7.

The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series sanctions weekly stock car racing at over 50 tracks in North America under a common point structure; each driver’s best 18 results in “Division I” events are counted toward their state, provincial, and national point totals. Proctor and Quenneville compete in the Bond Auto Parts Modified division – the designated Division I class at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, VT. Proctor, of Charlton, NY, was the Devil’s Bowl Speedway and NASCAR Vermont State Champion for the second straight year, while Quenneville, of Brandon, VT, collected the Rookie of the Year award for Vermont and finished second in national rookie standings. Devil’s Bowl racers to receive NASCAR Whelen All-American Series awards

CHARLOTTE, NC – Devil’s Bowl Speedway stock car drivers Ron Proctor and Vince Quenneville, Jr., will be among the honorees at a black-tie gala for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series on Friday, December 7. The ceremony, held in the Crown Ballroom at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, NC, will feature top short track racers from more than 50 tracks in the United States and Canada.

Proctor, of Charlton, NY, will collect hardware for his second straight Devil’s Bowl Speedway Track Championship and Vermont State Division I Championship under the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. Proctor earned the title racing in the Bond Auto Parts Modified division at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, VT, where he posted three victories and finished seventh or better in all 18 NWAAS events at the track in 2012. Proctor finished 68th in national NWAAS Division I standings, with his total point fund winnings expected to top $5,000.
