Waterbury, VT – The American Racer Three Star program is designed to recognize three teams in no particular order of performance that had outstanding races at American-Canadian Tour (ACT) U.S. Tour events. There are no specific criteria for deciding who might receive the award of a free American Racer Tire (value $125.00), but a special effort by a team, exceptional race, just plain old hard luck, or any other accepted reason is used to decide the award recipients.

EAST MONTPELIER, Vt. – It was evident from the moment Packard and the team unloaded her Northstar Fireworks/Packard Fuels sponsored car, that she was happy to be racing again at Devil’s Bowl. “We had a pretty good day in practice,” Packard said, “we did some fine tuning and worked on getting the car off the track. I have really been looking forward to returning to Devil’s Bowl, and knew that we would run well here.”

Polewarczyk Takes Third Win of Season in People’s United Bank 100
West Haven, VT – Defending American-Canadian Tour Champion Joey Polewarczyk Jr. captured his third win of the season in the People’s United Bank 100 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Saturday, June 6. Hudson, NH’s “Joey Pole” reeled in early leader Wayne Helliwell Jr. and took the lead on lap 75 of the caution-free 100-lap event. Nick Sweet took second, followed by Helliwell, Josh Masterson, and Brad Babb. Helliwell unofficially retains the ACT point lead heading into the next Tour event at White Mountain Motorsports Park on Saturday, June 20.

EAST MONTPELIER, Vt. – After making history at Devil’s Bowl Speedway back in July 2014, Packard and the Northstar Fireworks/Packard Fuels team have been looking forward to the race here. Back on July 11, 2014, Packard became the first woman and the youngest driver to win a NASCAR Whelen All-American Series event in the Late Model division feature race at Devil’s Bowl Speedway. “I am excited to go back to Devil’s Bowl Speedway this weekend,” said Packard “I got my first late model win there and had a really successful season last year. It is going to be a lot of fun returning there.”
Packard ran the full season at Devil’s Bowl in 2014, where she finished third in the championship battle with 3 wins, 10 top-5’s and 12 top-10’s in thirteen starts. “This is the second track I ever drove my late model at and I enjoyed it right from the start,” Packard said. “It is a spacious track with long straightaways and tight corners. I really like racing this kind of track versus a tight bull ring.”

ACT Field Looks to Topple Helliwell/Hoar Dynasty at Devil’s Bowl
Waterbury, VT—The stars of the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) will visit Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, VT for the People’s United Bank 100 on Saturday, June 6. Many Tour drivers will be looking for their first win at a track that two ACT Champions have had a firm grip on.
Dover, NH’s Wayne Helliwell Jr. and Williston, VT’s Brian Hoar have combined to win all five ACT Tour events at Devil’s Bowl since the series began visiting the ½-mile oval in 2011. Two-time ACT Tour Champion Helliwell won three straight races in 2012 and 2013, while eight-time Champion Hoar captured the 2011 and 2014 events. Both competitors will try to add to their win totals on Saturday.

The East Montpelier, VT native will use the annual American-Canadian Tour Late Model event to kick off a big week and hopes that she can celebrate with what would be an historic breakthrough ACT victory.
