Sixty-Six Year Old Don “Dipstick” Tofani First Entrant in M&M Beverage Enduro

Barre , VT – Don “Dipstick” Tofani of Plainfield is the first entrant into the 27th Annual M&M Beverage Enduro on Sunday, August 7 at Thunder Road International Speedbowl. The sixty-six year old Enduro veteran will pilot the Richard Bell Surveyor, Craftsbury Garage Oldsmobile Cutlass in the $3,000-to-win “People’s Race.” Over 100 slightly modified street cars driven by amateurs, are expected to run in the 200-lap event that will feature no cautions and stops for emergencies only. The annual Enduro is an action-packed thriller for the whole family.

Reno Gervais Earns Second Career Win on Pepsi Holiday Fireworks Night

Barre, VT – Island Pond’s Reno Gervais earned his second career win in a last lap thriller at Thunder Road during the Pepsi Holiday Fireworks event on Monday, July 4. Gervais was out about a half a straight away lead with just eight laps remaining when hard charging Lt. Governor Phil Scott of Berlin and Cris Michaud of East Montpelier cleared traffic in the second and third positions respectively.

Krawiec Wins Third Straight USAC DMA Feature at Bear Ridge Speedway

BRADFORD, VT – “Flatfoot” Joe Krawiec of Bristol, CT came from a ninth starting spot to win his third consecutive USAC Dirt Midget Association feature at Bear Ridge Speedway Saturday night. Going where angels fear to tread by running high and outside whenever traffic allowed, Krawiec dove to the inside on a mid-race restart to grab the lead and finish 1.8 seconds ahead of Scott Holcomb of Granby, CT. Veteran Pro Stock, Supermodified and NEMA Midget racer Jeff Horn of Hudson, MA was third, Hall of Famer Ray Miller was fourth and Dana Shaw, running his first full season in a Midget, continued to impress by finishing fifth. BRADFORD, VT………. “Flatfoot” Joe Krawiec of Bristol, CT came from a ninth starting spot to win his third consecutive USAC Dirt Midget Association feature at Bear Ridge Speedway Saturday night. Preferring to run the high line whenever traffic allowed, Krawiec finished 1.8 seconds ahead of Scott Holcomb of Granby, CT. Veteran Midget racer Jeff Horn of Hudson, MA was third.

Thunder Road Season Heats Up Headed into Pepsi Holiday Event

Barre, VT – The Thunder Road International Speedbowl season is in full swing just in time for three big events in the next two weeks. After a series of rain postponements, Thunder Road’s stars seem to finally be in rhythm as they head into the Monday, July 4th special Pepsi Holiday Fireworks event. It will be the first of two events in four days, the other being the Thursday, July 7th Charter Communications Night, followed by the Times Argus Mid-Season Championships on Thursday, July 14.

Cris Michaud Rebounds on Fairpoint Night at the Road

Barre, VT – East Montpelier’s Cris Michaud rebounded from a rough start to the 2011 season with his 17th career Late Model feature win at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, VT on Thursday, June 30. The three-time “King of the Road” started on the pole and held off sophomore driver Cody Blake and veterans Jamie Aube and Jamie Fisher on several restarts to earn the win. Fisher would settle for second and Blake completed the podium. Matt White and Aube rounded out the top five.
