13th Annual Upper Valley car show huge success
Sneak peak sees only the icing of what can be expected opening night May 2, 2015

BRADFORD, VT – The Bear Ridge Speedway 13th annual Upper Valley car show hosted by the West Lebanon Home Depot presented several beautiful 2015 machines ready to take the quarter mile Bear Ridge Speedway.

The parking lot area was packed with machines from every division that hit the Ridge. 2014 DIRTcar Bond Auto Sportsman Modifieds Rookies DJ Robinson and TC Forward were on hand, along with Dirtcar Sportsman Coupes 2014 track champion Jason Colbeth and veteran Buster Kathan. Mike Chaffee 2014 Sportsman of the Year represented the USAC DMA Dirt Midgets. A compliment of additional Sportsman Modifieds, Sportsman Coupes, Limited Late Models, Four Cylinders, Sprint Cars of New England and the Granite State Mini Sprints helped round out the representation. Along with the fast machines of the Ridge several Car Nutz old time beauties were on display as well.

Strong Field of Thunder Road Street Stock Racers Aim For 2015 Crown

sajkfasfaBarre, VT – The Allen Lumber Street Stock division at Thunder Road Speedbowl is guaranteed to have a different champion in 2015. Defending Champion Tommy Smith is moving up to the Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen, which opens the door for a number of contenders to ascend to the Street Stock Championship.

2014 Street Stock runner-up Alan Maynard looks to lead the charge. The Fairfax, VT driver finished in the top-10 in all 18 races. His impressive run of consistency saw him fall 10 points short of Smith. The University of Vermont associate professor returns this year with the same car and a fresh determination to capture the title.

Woodard Returns to Defend Tiger Sportsmen Title

gsdgdfgdfBarre, VT – The Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen will take to the high banks of Thunder Road for the 34th consecutive year in 2015. Defending Champion Jason Woodard leads a mix of veterans and rising stars alike will vie for the championship in the famed division.

Waterbury Ctr., VT’s Woodard is the first driver since 2010 to try and defend the Tiger Sportsmen title. He rode a remarkable run of consistency to the 2014 crown, finishing eighth or better in each of the 18 events. Woodard topped veteran Brendan Moodie, Jr. by 17 points in a battle that came down to the final laps of the season-ending Mini Milk Bowl.

Rutland Region Chamber of Commerce to host racecar show on May 9

RUTLAND, VT – The windows will rattle and the ground will shake in one of Vermont’s largest cities on Saturday, May 9 as the Rutland Region Chamber of Commerce hosts the return of the Devil’s Bowl Speedway Fan Festival in Downtown Rutland, VT. The free-admission racecar show will give fans an up-close preview of the racing season and a chance to meet the drivers at Devil’s Bowl Speedway just hours before the season premiere in nearby West Haven, VT.

Cars and drivers from the track’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series will line Center Street in the heart of the shopping, dining, and entertainment district of the city with gleaming machines from the Bond Auto Parts Modified, Central Vermont Motorcycles Late Model, Brileya’s Chrysler-Jeep Renegade, and Portland Glass Mini Stock divisions. Fans can meet drivers, collect autographs, and enter to win tickets for the opening event at Devil’s Bowl Speedway that evening.

Barre, VT – Before his 2013 rookie season in the Thunder Road Late Models, Barre’s Jason Corliss hoped that his team would be a championship contender in five years’ time. Corliss is now entering his third year in the top division, and already finds himself high on the list of title threats.

ACTCorliss enters the upcoming season after a 2014 campaign in which he captured the first two wins of his American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Model championship career. He finished fourth in the point standings. His defining moment came at the Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic. Corliss muscled underneath two-time “King of the Road” Nick Sweet on the final circuit of the 100-lap event, beating him to the checkered flag by a bumper for his first win. The victory sent a message: he and his Chris Burnett–owned team have arrived.

Devil’s Bowl Speedway Welcomes Contingency Partners

rrfdfghcvWEST HAVEN, VT – Devil’s Bowl Speedway competitors will receive a little extra for their efforts in 2015. The Rutland County race track will again reward racers in all four NASCAR Whelen All-American Series stock car racing classes with contingency bonuses from several racing industry supporters.
The Bond Auto Parts Modified division welcomes Shiley Fabrication back for its second season. The Williamstown, PA racing parts manufacturer will offer $50 certificates to both the “Hard Charger” and “Hard Luck” drivers in each feature race during the year. The driver who advances the most positions will win the Hard Charger award, while the driver who has the toughest outing will take home the Hard Luck award.
