Barre, VT – When Thursday night events start at Barre’s Thunder Road this Thursday, June 20, there will be a new twist on the Nation’s Site of Excitement’s racing card: The Rough Riders are coming to town.
The Rough Riders, are a division of 6-cylinder cars, ten years old or older, designed to introduce competitors to racing in a way that is cheap, simple, and most of all, fun. The cars will be painted with family friendly themes, and will have their first event of 2013 on the high banks this Thursday, June 20.

Douville Tames Bear Ridge Sprint Car Field, Patterson Captures First Modified Win
Adam Pierson Dominates USAC Dirt Midgets
BRADFORD, VT – Veteran stock car and sprint car driver Dan Douville wowed the crowd at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, VT on Saturday night with a rim riding performance in the 25-lap Sprint Cars of New England (SCoNE) feature on Jiffy Mart of Bradford Night as part of the 99ROCK Weekly Racing Series. A jammed pit area saw a total of 111 race teams from five states competing on the seven-division card.

Bates and Stone split Modified Twin 25s, LaVair repeats in Mini Stocks
WEST HAVEN, VT – Matt Frahm put on a stock car racing clinic at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Friday, June 14, dominating the inaugural Carmody Ford “Slate Valley 100” for the Granite State Pro Stock Series. Frahm was joined in victory lane by NASCAR Whelen All-American Series winners Hunter Bates, Todd Stone, and Bobby LaVair.

Barre, VT – On Sunday, June 16, The Nation’s Site of Excitement Thunder Road will open the gates with free admission for kids 12 and under with a full card of racing action and special events for the whole family.
Racecars from Thunder Road’s Late Model division, Bond Auto Tigers, and Allen Lumber Street Stocks will be lined up at 1:15pm to give rides around the quarter-mile oval to kids in attendance. Thunder Road will also be giving out a free hot dog to all kids.
