“Fans First” free admission program begins at Whelen/Mobil 1 event
WEST HAVEN, VT – History will be made on Friday, May 16, as Devil’s Bowl Speedway opens for the first time in its 48-year run with a Friday night “under the lights” event. Whelen Engineering and Mobil 1 present the groundbreaking NASCAR Whelen All-American Series stock car show at 7:00 p.m.

Residents of the track’s hometown in West Haven, VT and nearby Fair Haven, VT will receive free general admission upon presenting valid identification at the event. Waterbury, VT –The American Canadian Tour (ACT) will head for one of their favorite tracks, Airborne Speedway, on Saturday, May 17, 2014. The fast, progressively banked one-half mile speedplant has seen some of the most competitive events in the long history of ACT racing.
“It’s just one of those tracks that you love to race at. Of course, I love it since I won the $25,000 in the ACT International last year. This race will be different than the International with the three segments, or the 200-lap traditional Fall Foliage that we run at Airborne. It is longer in length than most of our short tracks, but it is also faster and things can happen pretty quickly,” said Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. from Hudson, New Hampshire. Pole currently sits in third place, just 16 points from leading the points race.

Epping, NH –Derek Griffith made his debut in the Pro All Star Series (PASS) on Saturday, May 10th and learned what it meant to race with some of the best drivers in the Northeast.
The Hudson, NH native tried out the waters on the very competitive Super Late Model series and came home with a very respectable 16th place finish. Starting 20th on the grid allowed Griffith to lay back and observe the racing ahead, all while devising their plan of attack for the later stages of the race.
Griffith was able to get the MOM’S of Manchester/LCM Racing/Tyngsboro Toyota Camry up in the top fifteen pretty quickly and was holding in own in fourteenth spot and then he was in an altercation which caused a caution to wave. Upon the restart, Griffith was working way through traffic and got as high as eleventh position before a miscommunication from track officials to Derek; while under yellow caused the young driver to go in to the pit area.

Bradley’s Dean Smart started the 40 lap Dysart’s Late Model feature at Speedway 95 in fifth place on Saturday night and hung around the top five as John Curtis Jr. of Hermon, John Kalel II of Orrington and Ryan Deane of Winterport took turns trying to unseat leader Wayne Parritt of Steuben. In the reshuffle through three late race cautions, Smart moved through the field, using both the inside and outside grooves to position his car for the final assault. On a lap 33 restart, Smart lined up beside Parritt and battled him side by side for the final 7 laps. The pair exchanged the lead twice until the final lap when Smart crossed the finish line with the front bumper of his car mere inches ahead of Parritt. Parritt finished second after leading for 35 of the races 40 laps, with Ryan Deane a close third. Fourth went to Hermon’s John Curtis Jr., who lost an early race side by side battle with Parritt for the lead, and last week’s winner, Kalel II, finished in fifth. Parritt and Corinna’s Paul White were the heat race winners.
