THOMPSON, CT. Thursday Night Thompson Thunder will be filled with action and tension this Thursday night at the Thompson Speedway. The action will come from the exciting eight-division program and the tension will be on the shoulders of the competitors in Thompson’s five NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions and the three visiting Touring divisions that will make up the program.
Thursday night’s lineup will feature the Valenti Modified Racing Series in a 75-lap main event. The first appearance of the VMRS came on May 19th. The rains came early and forced a cancellation for the night. Little did anyone know that in three subsequent attempts to present the VMRS, Mother Nature would step in each time to act as a spoiler.

WINCHESTER, NH – Adam Norton won his fourth Sportsman Modified feature race of the summer Saturday, August 17, at Monadnock Speedway and, on the six-division card of racing, Young Gun Joel Monahan earned his first career victory lap.
Other winners at the high-banked quarter-mile included Super Stock rookie Tom Carey III, who won the third event of his freshman season, and Marshall Usher, victorious for the second time in the Thunder Stocks. Mike Parker topped the 50-lap NE Mini Stock Tour main event, and Brandon Trezzi carried the checkers in the NE Champ Kart feature.
Joey Kendall paced the sizzling field for the first four laps of the Sportsman Modified feature, then giving way to Adam Norton. Tyler Jarvenpaa grabbed the deuce spot on lap eight, with Bill Kimball following him forward to snatch third a lap later.

Barre, VT – Ten days after his first Late Model career win, which was 14 years in the making, Eric Chase of Milton was back in victory lane on FairPoint Communications Night Sunday at Thunder Road.
Chase ruled the FairPoint Communications Night 50-lap main event after taking the lead from Joey Becker on lap 8. Jason Corliss and Phil Scott spent over 20 laps in hot pursuit before the race came apart on the frontstretch on lap 43.
As lapped car Dave Whitcomb eased up the track to let Chase slip through, he was turned by Corliss who was coming off turn four at full throttle. Scott slammed on the brakes and came to a stop against Whitcomb, only to be hammered from behind by Jamie Fisher.
The ensuing restart found Chase and Joey M Laquerre in row one, Cody Blake and Dave Pembroke in row two and Nick Sweet and Becker in row three. The inside line was the swiftest leaving Pembroke little room while Blake took over second with Sweet a few feet away in third.

EPPING, NH – D.J. Shaw of Conway, NH invaded the Granite State regulars and took the win in the 100 lap contest from Star Speedway. Shaw started mid-field aboard his Precision JLM Chevrolet and was able to work his way to the top spot at lap 48. It wasn’t without a challenge, as fellow Dale Shaw Racecar driver David Oliver gave Shaw a strong challenge aboard his Hood Heluva Good #21me. This marks the first win for Shaw on the Granite State Pro Stock Series Tour.
“This is big for me here. I don’t have much confidence in myself as a driver at this racetrack, so this is huge,” said a relieved Shaw in Victory Lane. “I had a good enough car to where I could hold off some challenges late. It’s great to have two Dale Shaw Racecars up front like this.”

Gary Seimons and Doug McPhail took home two of the top Hawthorne Automotive trophies on Sunday, August 18 at the Legion Speedway in Wentworth NH. The track also celebrated the women behind the scenes with Powder Puff races in three divisions.
Gary Seimons had a tough job getting his #51 Sportsman Modified past the hard-charging #26 of Jeff Huntington. When he finally accomplished the task he raced off into the distance and claimed his third feature win of the season. Allen Hammond (#77) won an equally difficult battle with Chad Turck (#56) for third.
Doug McPhail (#6) is currently in the tightest points race at the Legion Speedway, leading the Super Street division by a couple of handful of points. He helped his cause and inched closer to his first ever championship by winning the feature on the 18th. Nick O’Haire in the #09 “Flintstone Flyer” had his best finish of the season, coming in a close second and holding off third place “Super” Sam Comeau’s #30.

Todd Annarummo picks up Seekonk VMRS 100 lap main. Dylan Estrella, Paul Lallier and Scott Dion also win Bradford Motor Annex & Racing Guys night.
Second generation racer Todd Annarummo returned to his home track and picked up his first win of the season with the Valenti Modified Racing Series. Rob Goodenough was the early pace setter, leading the first ten circuits until championship contender Richard Savary moved out front. Savary was able to open some distance from the field until Annarummo moved into second and hunted down the leader.
At the 1/3 mark of the century grind, Todd moved into the lead, not to relinquish it again. But it wasn’t one without a fight. Late in the race, Steve Masse, who started deep in the field moved into second by lap 80, and closed in on Todd with 15 laps remaining. With a couple of restarts over the final laps, Masse raced side by side with Todd, but could not overtake the Swansea, MA native and settled for second. Savary, Tommy Barrett and Louie Mechalides rounded out the top five.

Gray Scores an Emotional Win in the Limited Late Models
BRADFORD, VT – Chris Donnelly and Justin Comes highlighted a jam-packed list of dirt track stock car winners on Swenson Insurance Night in the 99ROCK Weekly Racing Series at Bear Ridge Speedway on Saturday. Donnelly won the 25-lap Sprint Cars of New England (SCoNE) feature from the 14th starting position, and Comes first win of the year in the DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds broke a long streak of bad luck. More than 115 race teams filled the pit area.
Multi time champion Donnelly used the races’ only caution to his advantage as he took the lead on lap 12 from leading rookie candidate Travis Hull shortly after the race went back to green. Bridgewater, NH hotshoe Dan Douville used a late race slide job to take second with Travis Hull finishing third. Will Hull claimed fourth, after flipping off the top of turn one in hot laps after a steering failure with Lacey Hanson fifth.
