The Semi-Final Races of the 3rd Annual Racing against Cancer 100 at Checkered Flag Indoor Karting in Haverhill, MA.
Drivers in each race are required to make one 3-minute pit stop to switch to a kart with a fresh charge. The top 5 from each race advance to the final.
Speedway 660 Awards Banquet: 2012 Wrap Up! Looking ahead to the Speedway’s 20th season in 2013!
FREDERICTON: Saturday night at the Fredericton Inn Speedway 660 held its annual Awards banquet to honor the champions and award winners from the past season. A crowd of over 300 on hand to see the 2012 hardware rolled out. This event is always a great cap off to the previous season and a kick off for the upcoming season.
The big winners in 2012 were division champions Dave O’Blenis, Glyn Nott, Shannon Brake, Luc McLaughlin, Cole Boudreau and Chuck and Cliff Mercer.
This year’s Hughie Yorke Dedication to the Sport award was presented to Steve and Bob Rogers. A testimate to two gentleman who have spent their life in racing and now making sure their sons and grandsons have the same opportunity. (more…)

The 2013 racing season is off and arunnin’, yet we’ll have to wait until the Super Bowl is over before we see any NASCAR action. When Bill France, Sr., erected Daytona International Speedway in 1958 for stockcars, he also had built an infield road course. His intention was to host world class road races for drivers and cars from all industrialized nations, hence the 24 Hours of Daytona now known as the Rolex 24 which was just held. The late Bill France, Jr., continued along the same course.
Senior was a man of vision. Over the years, this particular road race has developed into a 24 hour endurance event, and, true to his vision, famous drivers from all over the globe have participated in this annual race. Now with the American LeMans Series merging with Grand Am in 2014, the 24 Hour grind should be really something next year. Thanks to the efforts of Jim France, Bill, Jr’s., brother, this race continues to make further strides on the world racing front. (more…)

Tough End To Strong Speedfest Run For Theriault
Accident Collects BKR Driver While Running Inside The Top-5
CORDELE, Ga. – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, saw a promising run get collected in someone else’s mess as he finished 13th in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Speedfest 200 at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Ga., on Sunday, Jan. 27.
Theriault was among the fastest cars in two days of practice on the .400-mile oval, qualified inside the Top-10 in the 32-car field and was leading with less than 70 laps remaining in the Brad Keselowski Racing No. 29 Checkered Flag Foundation Ford Fusion when troubles hit. A broken throttle spring left him with only a quarter-throttle before a timely caution flag flew, after which he marched back inside the Top-5 only to get turned from behind in Turn 3 and effectively take him out of contention. LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (Jan. 28, 2013) – Second-generation snocross racer Lincoln Lemieux stole the spotlight once again Sunday, completing a sweep of the Pro finals as East Coast Snocross (ECS) wrapped up Round 3 in the famed resort town of Lake George, New York.
Lemieux, of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, piloted his Ski-doo to victory in Saturday’s 14-lap contest, finishing just a half-second ahead of runner-up Corin Todd (Bailey/Hulten Polaris). Vermont veteran Chris Ackerman (Ingles Performance/Ski-doo) came up big with his first podium run of the season in third. (more…)

Therrien, Pilotte Take Top Honors
Barre, VT – Late Model Champion Nick Sweet celebrated his second King of the Road title at the Thunder Road Banquet of Champions on Saturday, January 26 at the Barre Elks Club. Bond Auto Tiger Sportsman Champion Bobby Therrien, and Allen Lumber Street Stock Champion Nick Pilotte were also honored for their respective titles.
Sweet dominated the Late Model division in 2012, becoming just the third Late Model champion in Thunder Road’s history to win the title with four victories. The family-run team posted a nearly unbeatable 13 top tens in their 14 starts, claiming his second championship in his four-year late model career at The Nation’s Site of Excitement. He now has 9 feature Late Model victories at Thunder Road. (more…)

Round 2 of Triple Crown at Louiseville next stop for East Coast Snocross series

CHESHIRE, Conn. (Jan. 26, 2013) – Just one week after their debut appearance in the popular resort town of Lake George, NY, teams from East Coast Snocross (ECS) will gear up for a trip north of the border.
On Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 2-3, the bustling village of Louiseville, Quebec, will roar to life with the sounds of snocross in Round 2 of the 2013 Triple Crown Series. Teams from Quebec-based SCM will host their U.S. counterparts in the International Snocross, presented by Loutec and the City of Louiseville.
Spectator gates open at 9 a.m. each day. Admission is $20 per day for adults; children age 12 and under will be admitted free with a paying adult. The track is located on Avenue Deveault and is easy to access. Respected Quebec businessman Jerome Gerber is our gracious host and event promoter. (more…)
