BRADFORD, VT…… “The Fairlee Flier” Kevin Chafee of Fairlee, VT defeated a series record field of 18 entrants to win his second consecutive USAC Dirt Midget Association feature at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, VT on Saturday. After a side-by-side battle with 69 year old New England Auto Racing Hall of Fame member Ray Miller of East Granby, CT, Chaffee had no trouble holding off his teammate “Flatfoot Joe” Krawiec of Bristol, CT. Miller came home third while teammates Tony Montesi of Roxbury, CT and Tim Gallant of Wales, MA completed the top five.

WOODY PITKAT WINS 18TH ANNUAL LATE MODEL 100 AT STAFFORD SPEEDWAY
(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway returned to racing on August 19th
with the Late Model cars taking top billing with their 18th Annual Late
Model 100 extra distance classic. Woody Pitkat was the big winner of the
night, capturing the Late Model 100 checkered flag for his third win of the
2011 season. In other NASCAR Whelen All-American Series feature racing
action, Keith Rocco scored his 8th win of the 2011 season in the SK
Modified® feature, Kyle Spencer picked up his first career win in a
spectacular finish in the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature, George Nocera,
Jr. picked up his fourth win of the 2011 season in the 20-lap Limited Late
Model feature, and Don Wood scored his fourth win of the 2011 season in the

Stefanik Brings Winning Ways to Thompson on Thursday Night
Preece Scores Sunoco Mod Win; O’Sullivan, Douton, Boss & Field Victorious
Thompson, CT (August 18, 2011): Mike Stefanik triumphed over the competition and Thompson International Speedway beat the weather for an action-packed night of racing action. With weather and Ryan Preece bearing down, Stefanik of Coventry, RI, was flawless to score the victory in the Tour-Type Modified Special. Stefanik had to hold off another Thompson winner to visit victory lane. Preece jumped out of his winning Sunoco Modified to run second to Stefanik in the event. The Sunoco Modified victory earlier in the evening was Preece’s third at Thompson in 2011.

Brooks Clark Wins First Late Model Feature at Thunder Road
Barre, VT – Vermont ACE Hardware night at Thunder Road in Barre, VT on Thursday, August 18 saw two first time winners in victory lane. Brooks Clark of Fayston claimed his first career Late Model feature win. Clark battled hard from the outside pole to edge pole sitter Jamie Aube before the first and only caution of the 50 lap event came on lap ten. Clark and Brett Wheeler broke away from the pack following the restart. The two battled through lapped traffic in the later stages of the event but Wheeler didn’t have enough to get by.

RYAN PREECE AND KEITH ROCCO LOCKED IN TIGHT RACE FOR STAFFORD SK MODIFIED® TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP
(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford’s SK Modified® division is currently in
the midst of one of the tightest championship battles in recent memory.
Entering this Friday night’s Late Model 100 race program, Ryan Preece leads
Keith Rocco by only 4 points, which is 2 positions on the race track. The
championship margin was 2 points, but Preece’s victory last Friday night,
combined with Rocco’s second place finish, pushed the margin up to 4 points
and their 1-2 finish may be a preview of what fans can expect to see over
the final 6 events of the 2011 season.
