WISCASSET SPEEDWAY CELBRATES ITS 46TH BIRTHDAY

Wiscasset Speedway celebrated its forty-sixth birthday last Saturday night. The evening was presented by Maine State Bureau of Highway Safety. Drivers from past and present had gathered to help celebrate the day and participated in a driver recognition ceremony during intermission. Champions’ Night drivers included Ed Pierpont, Steve Pierpont, Vern Hodgkins, Dale Chadbourne, Adam Chadbourne, Dan Trask, Scott Chubbuck, Mike Delaney, Nick Hinkley, Brett Mank, Gave Gabrey, Mike Moody, Alan Moeller Sr, Jeff Burgess, Steve Reny, Kamren Knowles, Maurice Young, Daryl Cook, Scott Delano, Jeff Jackson, Eddie Bellows, Casey Nash, Neil Reny, and Chester Rice. Lee, NH – The cars and stars of the Granite State Pro Stock Series were the added attraction at Lee USA Speedway on Friday night, while the Supermodifieds had the night off, and NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Sportsman, Hobby Stock, Ironman, and Pure Stock feature events rounded out the program at “New Hampshire‘s Center of Speed“.
Three rounds of qualifying action set the field for the Seacoast 100 for the GSPSS, with one local favorite, Bobby Cabral, sidelined as a result of a hard hit during his heat race. Cabral caught a wheel from another competitor on the first lap of his heat, and drilled the wall in turn two to end his night before it even got started.
Matt Frahm of Salem, Derek Griffith of Hudson, and former Lee champion Larry Gelinas of Buxton, ME posted the heat wins, and all were strong contenders in the 100-lap main event. But none of them had anything for Jeremy Davis of Tamworth, who easily outdistanced the field to collect the win. (more…)

Oxford, Maine – Joey Polewarczyk of Hudson, New Hampshire entended his lead in the battle for the ACT Late Model Tour championship with his victory in the Dave’s Small Engine Ventrac 150 on Saturday night at Oxford Plains Speedway.
Polewarczyk prevailed in an aggressive, paint-swapping battle with Windham’s Brad Babb, who looked like a winner before contact from behind set off a chain of events which cost Babb the race lead and, eventually, any chance of victory.
Jared Fryar Survives Wild Night For First Career PASS South Win At Caraway
SOPHIA, NC (July 25) – Jared Fryar took the lead from veteran Greg Marlowe with 13 laps to go and led the rest of the way to score his first career Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model win Saturday night at Caraway Speedway. Fryar had to survive a wild event that saw the caution flag wave six times in the 125 lap event on PASS Fan Appreciation night at the races.
“I got a little nervous when we dropped back to seventh there, but luckily we were able to get back to third and cruise and then we got a late race caution and things fell our way,” said Fryar, who has finished no lower than fourth in just three PASS South starts in 2015. “He [Marlowe] was hard to get by there, but it just feels awesome to finally get my first PASS Super Late Model win. I just can’t thank all of the people who have stuck behind me and believed in what we’re doing.”
In qualifying, PASS South points leader Zane Smith paced the 20 car field in qualifying with a lap of 98.967 miles per hour around the tough .455 mile speedway. Following the top 10 qualifiers redraw, Smith would slot into the seventh starting position while Joey Coulter and Joey Padgett would move to the front row to lead the field to green. (more…)
Polewarczyk Completes Season Sweep at Oxford After Late Incident
Oxford, ME – Joey Polewarczyk Jr. won his fourth American-Canadian Tour (ACT) event of the season in the Oxford Plains 150 at Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway on Saturday, July 25 after a late incident while fighting with Brad Babb for the lead.
Hudson, NH’s “Joey Pole” took the lead for the final time with four laps remaining after he and Babb made contact racing for the top spot in turn one. Babb slid up the track before gathering the car, but subsequently lost control exiting turn two and spun to bring out the caution.
After another caution on the restart, Pole held off a final charge from Dillon Moltz to complete the season sweep at the 3/8-mile oval and unofficially retake the points lead. The normally popular driver was then booed in Victory Lane. (more…)

Quiet Dominance: Jeremy Davis Cruises to Victory in Seacoast 100
LEE, NH – Jeremy Davis took the lead on lap 18, and never looked back, on route to a dominant performance in the Granite State Pro Stock Series at Lee USA Speedway (NH), in the Seacoast 100.
The Tamworth, NH driver started sixth on the grid, and took little time to work his way into the top three. Davis shot to the outside of Derek Griffith on lap 17, and was the leader at the stripe. Davis would hold off Griffith on four different restarts, before taking off on a 60-lap green flag run, putting a full lap between himself and all but the top six drivers. (more…)
Williams, Butler, Burnham, Hayes, L’Etoile, Jr., & DiMatteo Score July 24th Mid-Season Stretch Feature Wins at Stafford Speedway
(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway returned to NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action with the Mid-Season Stretch program on Friday, July 24th that saw each division race an extra two laps in distance. The 24th was also an Ingersoll Rand contingency night with bonuses going to the winners of the SK Light, Limited Late Model, and DARE Stock features. Ronnie Williams took his third win of the year in the SK Modified® feature, Tom Butler was a first time winner in the Late Model feature, D.J. Burnham scored his third win of the year in the SK Light feature, Andrew Hayes took down his third win of the season in the Limited Late Model feature, Frank L’Etoile, Jr. won for the second time this year in the DARE Stock feature, and Dana DiMatteo was a winner for the time this season in the Legend Cars feature.
