Successful Opening Night at Monadnock Speedway
Winchester, NH: Opening Day for the Monadnock Speedway can be summed up by new word “Wow”. That was what the Sportsman Modified Division feature winner Ricky Labrecque said when interviewed trackside after his win. Race fans were treated to the first of many, action packed Saturday nights at the fastest high banked quarter mile in the East. Labrecque picked up his first win in the Sportsman Modifieds, followed closely by Nick Boivin in second and Bill Kimball in third.
Race features for the night began with the mighty Mini Stock division. Chris McTaggart (last year’s division champion) would, after valiant effort, finish second to Joey Kendall who put his #13 in the lead and never looked back. Tim Jackson picked up a podium finish in third.

THOMPSON, CT. The Thompson International Speedway will open the race track for practice sessions for the next two Thursdays. The speedway will be open on Thursday May 6th and again on May 13th between the hours of 3 PM and 8 PM for teams to fine tune their race cars before the track kicks off its Thursday Night Thompson Thunder (TNTT) series of May 20th.
These traditional open practice sessions are designed to give valuable track time to race teams so that they will be race ready when the first green flag falls on the regular weekly NASCAR Whelen All-American Series races. The grandstands will not be open for these practice dates.
Many of the race teams that plan to participate in Thompson’s Tour-Type Modified races have expressed interest in getting some valuable track time during these two open practice sessions. The interest in the four Tour-Type Modified 40-lap shoot outs on Thompson’s schedule is high and these two opportunities are looked at with great interest by many of the top race teams that will compete in these events.

Mike Rowe scores back –to-front PASS North win at Beech Ridge
Mike Rowe didn’t look like a winner during qualifying for Saturdays’ Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North season opener at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. Rowe started the 150 lap super late model feature in the 28th position but the defending Pro Series Champion at the immaculate Scarborough Maine oval picked his way through the field to put his PT Watts Chevrolet on race leader Trevor Sanborn’s back bumper at the half way mark..
Sanborn held Rowe at bay for nearly 50 laps, but the Maine motorsports legend found an opening under Sanborn on lap 120 and led the final 30 laps to capture his sixteenth PASS North Super Late Model feature and two in a row at Beech Ridge. Rowe’s margin of victory was .526 seconds

Cupid Shoots Arrow Through Mark Irving’s Fuel Tank
BY MARK McKEON
WESTFIELD,MA – Todd Bertrand used his equipment to full advantanage at Whip City Speedway, winning his heat and then defeating 17 competitors to capture the season opening 270cc Mini Sprint feature.
“Our Skeetz motor gave us plenty of power, and the anti-roll adjustment package that Danny Drinan built for the RTS chassis let me adjust the car to run where the track was good,” Bertrand said. “It’s the same chassis package that Damien Gardner is using on his USAC Midget.”
Bertrand led from green to checker, often accumulating long leads that were wiped out by numerous caution flags. His only serous competition came from fellow heat winner Mark Irving, until Irving ran out of fuel halfway through the 20 lap feature.
