Peltier paces PASS South at Orange County

Rougemont NC (4/25) Preston Peltier used the bottom groove to work his way past Ryan Moore on lap 112 of the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Orange Blossom Special to claim his second consecutive PASS South super late model win of 2010. It was also Peltiers’ second consecutive PASS Orange Blossom Special victory at the Rougemont North Carolina speed plant.

Daniel Hemric made his PASS debut a successful one with a strong second after a brief stint in the lead, and fast timer Joey Gase raced home third. 2007 PASS South Champion Ryan Lawler was fourth and Andy Loden came home fifth. Moore faded to sixth at the finish followed by Ryan Blaney, Evan Jackson, Tim Nooner and early race leader Devin Jones. Moore led the most laps (24-112) before relinquishing the lead to Peltier.

Albany-Saratoga Speedway Race Preview

Joey Polewarczyk Jr. will try and earn Ford Racing its first ACT Late Model Tour victory when he opens the 2010 season in the Albany-Saratoga 100 at Albany-Saratoga Speedway in Malta, N.Y., on Sunday, April 25. The track was renovated from a dirt track in the offseason and made into a flat, .400-mile asphalt oval in time for this year, and this will be just the second event held at the new speedway. The originally scheduled season-opening NH Governor’s Cup 150 at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, N.H., last week was postponed by weather. Polewarczyk enters his sixth season with ACT and has four career wins, including two at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, and he has finished inside the top-5 in nine of his last 24 starts.

Waterbury, VT – The American Canadian Tour (ACT) teams are looking forward to opening the season at the newly paved Albany-Saratoga Speedway in Malta, NY on Sunday, April 25. Many are a little bit anxious, having never seen the new track before. There was plenty of excitement when the announcement came last fall about the track going back to asphalt after over 30 years as a dirt CVRA (Champlain Valley Racing Association) track under the Richards family.

THOMPSON READIES FOR NEW AND EXCITING WEEKLY RACING

THOMPSON, CT With a successful season-opening Icebreaker, Thompson officials are very optimistic about the regular weekly racing calendar for this season. Mother Nature pulled out all the stops and provided exceptional weather for the two-day event. As a result, fans flocked to the famed oval for the track’s opening event and witnessed a truly great weekend of racing.

“We have an exciting schedule of events for 2010 with several new additions to previous year’s race schedules. A good start like we had at the Icebreaker makes us very optimistic about our Thursday night weekly events that begin on May 20th,” said track owner, Don Hoenig.

First of Two Test and Tune

Winchester, NH: Monadnock Speedway held their first of two test and tune sessions this past Sunday. The practice was originally scheduled on Saturday, April 17th however due to inclement weather it was postponed to Sunday.

Many new race teams filled the pit area eager to take to ¼ mile high banked track shaking down their race machines. All divisions were represented including the new Sportsman Modifieds and the Young Guns. The Young Guns were the most impressive as the youth racers started off nervously however ended the session very confident improving their lap times while being coached by track officials.
