RPM Motorsports: Subway Fresh Fit 150
Canaan Fair Speedway Race Preview
THE STORY
GEORGIA, Vt. – Brian Hoar of Williston, Vt., and RPM Motorsports take a break from ACT Late Model Tour racing this week to compete in the $5,000-to-win Subway Fresh Fit 150 at Canaan Fair Speedway in Canaan, N.H., on Saturday, May 12. Hoar finished second last year in the open competition for ACT-legal Late Models, and he’s looking to use the event to get the RPM Motorsports No. 37 GossCars.com Dodge Charger back on track following a disappointing 11th-place finish last weekend in the ACT Spring Green 112 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway.

Back-To-Back Top-10 Finishes Have Second-Year Driver Rolling
At the end of a long day of practice at Thunder Road International Speedbowl two weeks ago, Luke Hinkley was noticeably frustrated.
The Claremont, N.H., driver had thrown everything he could think of at his No. 31 R.E. Hinkley Oil Dodge Charger to no avail. Nothing was making the car circle the peculiar quarter-mile any more efficiently. If Hinkley had a kitchen sink at his disposal, he probably would have thrown that at the ill-tempered car, too.
So, Hinkley made a phone call across the Green Mountains to Mitch Green, and in the middle of the night, Green offered up some advice. That advice turned Hinkley’s team around 180 degrees – turning the No. 31 from a car that simply wouldn’t go to one that most of the other ACT Late Model Tour teams couldn’t keep up with when practice resumed the next morning.

Brian Hoar of Williston, Vt., held off a furious challenge from Wayne Helliwell Jr. for the second race in a row, leading the final 22 laps to win the Merchants Bank 150 at Thunder Road International Speedbowl on Sunday afternoon.
It was the first career Merchants Bank 150 win for the driver of the RPM Motorsports No. 37 GossCars.com Dodge, and it was his second straight win to open the 2012 ACT Late Model Tour season. Hoar now has an ACT-record 35 career victories and holds the early points lead as he searches for a ninth ACT championship.
“I’ve been chasing this one a long time,” said Hoar, who won the 2011 Milk Bowl at Thunder Road. “It’s the first time for us (in the Merchants Bank 150), and it’s a big deal. Anytime you can win at Thunder Road, it’s awesome.”
