Tight Points Battle As PASS South Heads Back To Southern National

Tight Points Battle As PASS South Heads Back To Southern NationalCHARLOTTE, NC (July 9) – As summer continues to roll on, the action on the track is also heating up as the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models prepare for their 9th race of the season coming up this Saturday night at Southern National Motorsports Park in Kenly, NC. Tyler Church and Cole Timm have been neck and neck in pursuit of the South’s most prestigious Super Late Model championship, each scoring a win so far this season. But, Jared Irvan, Tyler Dippel, Trevor Noles, and Brandon Setzer have consistently been finishing in the top five as of late and are keeping the championship contenders in site as they head to Southern National this weekend.

However, Church and Timm will certainly be among the cars to beat at Southern National. Church won last year’s season ending Mason Dixon Meltdown last November and was the fast qualifier when PASS visited the fast high banked speedway in May. Timm finished second to Church in the Meltdown and has placed in the top five in three of the last four PASS South events at Southern National. Those results, coupled with his recent win at South Boston Speedway, has Timm confident heading into the Southern National 150.

PASS South Event At Franklin County Cancelled; Next Event July 3 At Greenville-Pickens

PASS SouthNAPLES, ME (July 12) – Due to circumstances out of their control, Pro All Stars Series (PASS) officials announced today that the PASS events scheduled for June 21 at Franklin County Speedway in Callaway, VA have been cancelled. The track has undergone a management change in the last week. Despite the best efforts of PASS officials to work with the former management, we feel that there is not sufficient time to work with the new management team and organize this event properly.

The PASS South Super Late Models and PASS Pro Late Models will be in action once again on Thursday, July 3, along with the Southeast Super Trucks, for a special Independence holiday event at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in South Carolina. In addition to the action on track, fans will be entertained by a different type of fireworks. A Freestyle Motorcycle Spectacular will amaze and entertain the fans during intermission and help get the extended weekend kicked off in a big way.

Noles leads 16 FryarCHARLOTTE, NC (May 27) – As the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Models prepare to return to Southern National Motorsports Park this weekend, the series is in the midst of one of its most competitive seasons ever. Through five races so far this year, there have been four different winners. Only Daniel Hemric has been able to double up in victory lane in 2014, yet that was with two different teams, Woodman Racing and Carswell Motorsports.

This Saturday night’s 2nd Annual Dogwood Blossom 150 could very well see the fifth different PASS South Super Late Model winner this season. Southern National Motorsports Park in eastern North Carolina has traditionally been a stronghold for Super Late Model racing. PASS South competitors John Batten and Joe Heigl are both former Super Late Model track champions at the high banked, 4/10 mile speedway.

PASS South Hopefuls Ready For Return To Southern National

PASS South Hopefuls Ready For Return To Southern NationalCHARLOTTE, NC (May 21) – After successfully returning to Southern National Motorsports Park in Kenly, NC last year, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Models are ready to once again hit the high banks on Saturday, May 31 for the 2nd Annual Dogwood Blossom 150. This year, teams return to Southern National with a hefty notebook to rely on full of data acquired in the series’ four trips to the track in 2013.

Wallkill, NY’s Tyler Dippel is especially looking forward to returning to Southern National for the Dogwood Blossom 150. After competing on a very limited basis with the PASS South Super Late Models last year, the 14-year-old Empire State driver heads back to Southern National Motorsports Park where he qualified in the top 10 for last year’s season-ending Mason Dixon Meltdown. And that’s significant for the young driver. Southern National will be the first return trip for Dippel of any of the tracks he has competed on while racing in PASS South.

Newton Takes PASS South Thriller At Orange County

PASS SouthROUGEMONT, NC (April 5) – Roger Lee Newton held off a furious last lap charge by Trevor Noles that saw Noles spin across the finish line to win the 9th Annual Orange Blossom Special Saturday night for the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Models at Orange County Speedway. Newton’s second Orange Blossom Special victory puts him in elite company joining Preston Peltier as the only drivers to ever win the event more than once.

“I don’t know what it is about this place, but I love it,” said Newton after ending a winless streak dating back to 2011. “He (Noles) hit me, but that’s racing. It’s the last lap and you do anything to win. When he hit me, I just nailed the gas and it stuck. I don’t know what to say, I just can’t believe it.”
