Stafford Speedway’s Gambler’s Challenge Continues to Grow

etrdhfg(Stafford Springs, CT)—With the green flag just around the corner for Stafford Speedway’s NAPA Auto Parts SK 5k feature event this Friday night July 10, the anticipation and excitement continues to grow. This year’s edition has the added twist of the Dunleavy Gambler’s Challenge. The Gambler’s Challenge requires SK Modified® drivers to put up $100 with the total driver amount being matched by Doug Dunleavy from Dunleavy’s Truck & Trailer Repair. The match grew last Friday night when three race fans from Rayner Real Estate came into the Speedway Office and offered to join Doug Dunleavy in matching the bonus pot, which now stands at $4,800 with 16 drivers entered.

Pennink, Fearn, Henry, Bren, Trott, & DiMatteo Score July 3 Independence Day Celebration / SK Light Xtra Mart Xtra D Feature Wins at Stafford

etrdhfg(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway returned to NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action with the SK Light Xtra Mart Xtra D program on Friday, July 3rd. Xtra Mart Convenience Stores put up a $500 bonus that was split evenly among the top-5 finishers in the extra distance SK Light feature event. Rowan Pennink scored his fifth win of the season in the SK Modified® feature in what turned out to be a thrilling finish, Tom Fearn also scored win #5 of the season in the Late Model feature, Payton Henry was a first time winner in 2015 by taking the checkered flag in the 25-lap Xtra Mart Xtra D SK Light feature, Justin Bren dominated the Limited Late Model feature for his first win of the season, Tyler Trott scored his third win of 2015 in the DARE Stock feature, and Cory DiMatteo scored his third win of the season in the Legend Cars feature.

Matt Galko Looking for First SK Modified® Win at Stafford

etrdhfg(Stafford Springs, CT)—For Meriden native Matt Galko, his open wheel modified experience at Stafford Motor Speedway has been a tale of two divergent paths. Galko burst onto the modified scene by winning the SK Light championship as a rookie in 2010 and he followed that up with another championship in 2011. Galko moved up to the SK Modified® division in 2012 and in the three plus seasons since then, he is still in search of his first SK Modified® victory. Although the 2015 season is only approaching its midway point, Galko has enjoyed his best season and what better race to claim as your first win than the NAPA SK 5k with a total purse of over $30,000 and over $5,000 going to the winner?

Stafford’s NAPA Auto Parts SK 5k Gamblers Challenge Grows

etrdhfg(Stafford Springs, CT)—The 2nd Annual NAPA Auto Parts SK 5k at Stafford Motor Speedway takes center stage next Friday, July 10th featuring the biggest race of the season for the SK Modified® division. Over $30,000 in total posted awards is up for grabs and the drama for the race continues to build. The SK Modified® feature events have consistently recorded non-stop competition this season, with side by side and wheel to wheel action.
This year’s edition has the added twist of the Dunleavy Gambler’s Challenge. The Gambler’s Challenge will be determined by the NAPA SK 5k Fan Vote that is currently live on www.staffordspeedway.com. The winner of the NAPA SK 5k will determine how the bonus gets distributed by a random draw of the top 3 choices from the Fan Vote.
