ALEX LABBE ROLLS TO PASS SLM WIN AT MONTMAGNY

Canadian speedster, Alex Labbe scored an impressive victory this past Saturday night at Autodrome Montmagny in Montmagny, Quebec, as he held off a race long challenge from Cassius Clark to secure the win.
One of the biggest stories of the night was just as DJ Shaw pulled onto the starting grid for the main event, something broke on the potent #60 and the oil pump seized up. Fortunately they made a quick deal with Michael Lavoie and he was able to start the race from the back of the field.
Labbe took the lead from lap one, and streaked out to an early advantage over Ben Rowe, Cassius Clark, Alex Gingras and Gary Smith. Clark raced by Rowe to grab the second spot and then set his sights on leader Labbe. The first caution flew on lap 64 for a minor spin by Travis Benjamin bunching up the field and sending him to the rear.
Heavy lapped traffic started to become a factor keeping the field single file as Labbe and company weaved their way through the slower cars. The second and final caution of the day came for a spin by Jacques Poulin in turn one on lap 104. The restart saw Labbe still on the point ahead of Cassius Clark, a hard charging Johnny Clark, Glen Luce and DJ Shaw. Once again Labbe bolted ahead on the restart with Cassius Clark glued to his rear bumper. Labbe never got more than a car length away but Cassius Clark ran out of time and settled for second ahead of Johnny Clark, Glen Luce, and Travis Benjamin. Sixth through tenth went to DJ Shaw, Ben Rowe, Gary Smith, Curtis Gerry and Jacques Poulin.
Heat checkers flew for Labbe and Johnny Clark.
