STREETSTOCK INVITATIONAL 50, ATLANTIC OPEN WHEEL (AOW) TOUR and SOAP BOX 50 INVADE CFS ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON

(Shediac, N.B.) — A number of the top Streetstock drivers from throughout New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island are expected to battle it out during this Sunday’s Eastern Well Drillers Streetstock 50-lap Invitational stock car racing event at the Centre for Speed, Atlantic Canada’s Super Speedway and “Metro Moncton’s Playground of Power”. The Atlantic Open Wheel (AOW) Modifieds will also make their first stop of 2010 at CFS.

Sunday’s event, which will start at 2:00 p.m., will also include CFS championship points racing in the other three regular divisions of Super Sportsman and the 4-cylinder Mini Stocks and Four Fun divisions. The ‘door handle to door handle’ racing action will include 35-lap
features as well as ‘Dash races’ for these divisions. The Thrasher division drivers will also be on hand to compete in the always unpredictable Buyer Flyer Soap Box Derby 50, which features demolition and endurance racecars competing for the win on a slippery water and soap-soaked racetrack!

Admission to Sunday’s event is only $10 for adults and $5 for children (5-15 years of age) along with a Family Pass for 2 adults and 2 children for $25. Front gates and grandstands open at 1:00 p.m. with green flag motorsports action starting at 2:00 p.m. A number of
prizes will be awarded to some of the fathers in attendance, as last week’s Fathers Day event was rained out.

CFS urges everyone to check the speedway’s web site (www.centreforspeed.com) or call the speedway’s info line (506-532-3032) to check the status of any event before travelling in case of inclement weather.

On Sunday July 11th, the CENTRE will host the biggest MONSTER TRUCK show ever presented in southeastern New Brunswick. Maple Leaf Monster Madness 2010 will invade the CENTRE for an afternoon of ‘unleashed’ competition featuring car-crushing, side-by-side and freestyle events. A field of six top Monster Trucks, as seen on the Speed Network, featuring Crushstation, Eradicator, Backdraft, War Eagle, Screamin Demon, and Razin Kane, will lay down tracks along with a GIANT Demolition Derby.

Advanced tickets, with savings of $8 per adult ticket ($20), $5 per child ticket ($10) and $11 for the Family Pass for 4 ($58) are currently on sale until July 3rd from the CFS website, Frank’s Music in Moncton (Home Depot complex), and the CO-OP supermarket in Shediac. Prices at the door on July 11th will be $28 for adults, $15 for children (5 to 15 years old) and $69 for a Family Pass for 4.
