My hat’s off to Matt and his
crew.”

Matt captured the win in veteran fashion, bidding his time early in the 50-lap event after starting on the pole and seeing veteran Claude Gaudet (#22) of Grand Barachois move ahead on lap #8. Matt kept pace and pressured the veteran Gaudet throughout the event before picking a small opening on the inside coming out of turn #4 on lap #28 to make his move to the front of the pack. From then on, he held off the late race challenge from Ward to capture the feature win with Lane coming in third’ Ward also had to settle for second in the 10-lap heat behind winner Luc Bourgeois (#88) of Memramcook.

In Shediac Sportsman action, Gary Tingley (#8) of Colpitts Settlement captured his first career feature win at CFS after a late race mix-up with leader Doug MacEwen (#40) of Charlottetown. MacEwen, who led for most of the 50-lap event, was relegated to the back of the field after a collision with Tingley as they fought for the lead going into turn #1 on lap #47. Tingley then held onto to the lead over the remaining three laps to record the win, crossing the stripe ahead of Mike Francis (#23) of Saint John and Tyler Rossiter (#14) of Weldon. MacEwen had earlier copped the win in the 10-lap heat.

In Mini Stock action, Mike Edwards (#23) of Riverview captured his second feature win of the season in the 50-lap main event, crossing the stripe ahead of CFS points leader Martin Landry (#00) of Grand Barachois.
