ATLANTIC MONSTER TRUCK NATIONALS SET TO THRILL FANS ON SATURDAY AT THE CENTRE FOR SPEED

(Shediac, N.B.) — The Centre for Speed (CFS) is pulling out all the stops for its ‘ground rumbling’ ATLANTIC MONSTER TRUCK NATIONALS 2010 event.

On Saturday, October 16th, RAIN OR SHINE, the ground will definitely be shaking as FIVE top-ranked Monster Trucks invade the CENTRE for an afternoon of ‘outdoors and unleashed’ competition featuring side-by-side racing, freestyle, and wheelie competition events. This final motorsports event of 2010 will also include a full program of additional Thrasher division ‘Crash and Bang’ action, with a GIANT Demolition Derby, Full Contact Racing and an always unpredictable ‘Racing Blind’ event, where drivers must trust their co-pilots to get around the racing surface while blindfolded, as well as a ‘Burnout’ competition, which adds up to a ‘crush and bang’ afternoon of non-stop action.

Saturday’s field of Monster Trucks will include Crushstation, the ‘Monster Lobster’ and one of the most original Monster Trucks currently competing on the circuit, as well as Shock Therapy, the 2010 Monster Jam ‘Big Air’ champion, Black Stallion, a multi-time Monster Jam World Finalist, Excalibre, and Iron Warrior, who will lay down tracks at the CENTRE for the biggest MONSTER TRUCK show to ever hit the Maritimes!

The large open infield at the CENTRE will feature two-side-by-side ovals complete with “big air” opportunities for the drivers of these Monster Trucks, similar to what fans have seen during the ‘Monster Jam’ events held at facilities such as the Houston Astrodome in Texas. Saturday afternoon’s event will be the first event of its kind in Atlantic Canada with all sorts of opportunities for the drivers to showcase the awesome horsepower and handling of these awe-inspiring machines.

Fans can check out this year’s Monster Truck competitors from the videos and photos posted on the CFS website (www.centreforspeed.com). The site also features action from past Monster Truck shows at CFS.

The full throttle action gets underway at 1:00 p.m. on October 16th with an opportunity for fans to get up-close and personal with their favorite MONSTER JAM competitors during a photo and autograph session. These 1,800-horsepower car crushing machines will then be ‘unleashed’ at 2:00 p.m. when the action starts with side-by-side car crushing races, freestyle and wheelie competitions.

Special discount advanced tickets are available online at www.centreforspeed.com until midnight on October 14th with savings of $5 per Adult ticket, $3 per Junior ticket (ages 4 to 15) and $10.50 per Family Pass for 4 (2 Adults and 2 Juniors).

Advance tickets are also available at Franks Music in Moncton (near the Trinity Home Depot), and the Shediac Co-op Grocery Store customer service desk.

Prices at the door on October 16th will be $28 for adults (16 and above), $15 for juniors (4-15 years old) and a family pass for $78. Children 3 and under will be admitted FREE.

All tickets purchased for the previously scheduled Monster Truck show in July will be honoured at the door as well as the $3 off coupons that were made available to fans who drove to CFS in July when the original event had to be rescheduled due to a number of mechanical problems with the anticipated competitors.

NOTE: Watch for news on the CFS website regarding a special advance display on Friday, October 15th featuring one of this Saturday’s Monster Truck at a location to-be- determined in the Greater Moncton area!
