TREMBLAY CAPTURES DEMOLITION EVENT WHILE MONSTER TRUCKS THRILL FANS DURING SEASON FINALE AT CENTRE FOR SPEED

(Shediac, N.B.) – Andre Tremblay (#49) of St. Lois de Kent captured a hard-fought victory in the 15-car Demolition Derby event while five top-ranked Monster Trucks thrilled fans who stayed glued to their seats throughout a steady drizzle during Saturday’s season finale event at the Centre for Speed (CFS) during the ATLANTIC MONSTER TRUCK NATIONALS 2010 event.

Tremblay and Brentley Pirri (#37) of Halifax were the last two cars still running at the end of a grueling and hard-fought Demolition Derby with Tremblay finally prevailing after a final hit on Pirri’s 1991 Buick which disabled his racecar in the infield mud. A few moments earlier, Stephane Poirier (#79) of St. Louis de Kent saw his afternoon come to an end when both Tremblay and Pirri sandwiched his car into submission.

Other winners on the afternoon included Cody McLean (#01) of Moncton in the Barrel Race, Remi Gallant (#11) of Haute Aboujagane in the Back Up / Blindfold Race, while Tyler Caissie (#48) of Lower Coverdale and Claude Gaudet (#22) of Grand Barachois claimed victories in the two Bump to Pass races.

The big winners were the fans who cheered and screamed their approval during the Monster Truck events, which featured Crushstation, the ‘Monster Lobster’ and one of the most original Monster Trucks currently competing on the circuit, Shock Therapy, the 2010 Monster Jam ‘Big Air’ champion, Black Stallion, a multi-time Monster Jam World Finalist, Excalibre, and Iron Warrior.

Black Stallion picked up the win in the side-by-side car jump obstacle event while Crushstation was the fan favorite in the Wheelie competition event. All five Monster Trucks flew through the air and crushed the obstacle cars throughout the muddy course during their tremendous Freestyle displays. It was then up to the fans to choose the winner and they decided that it was a tie between Black Stallion and Crushstation.

Saturday was the final event of the 2010 season at CFS. Fans are urged to watch for details on upcoming events at the CENTRE by checking the website, at www.centreforspeed.com during the off-season.
