(Halifax, NS, May 19, 2013) Halifax, NS’s John Flemming raced his Action Car & Truck Accessories Dodge Charger from the back in just 25 laps to win the 2013 Season Opener Lucas Oil 150 at Scotia Speedworld on Sunday night. Flemming started on the outside with three laps to go and rode the outside groove to the victory around defending series champion Shawn Turple of Enfield, NS. Greg Proude of Springvale, PE rebounded from a late spin in Turn One to finish third with Daryl Mahar (Hubley, NS) and sophomore Steve Ross (Waverley, NS) completing the top five.

Flemming started the day off taking the top spot in the Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials with a quick circuit of 14.285 seconds. Following a shake-up of the top nine drivers and a 10 lap race, Shawn Tucker of Fredericton, NB took home the King Freight Dash for Cash giving him the pole position to start the Lucas Oil 150. Dartmouth Dodge Heat Races were won by Proude, New Glasgow, NS’s George Koszkulics, and Antigonish, NS’s Donald Chisholm. Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro) backed up his sixth place starting spot in the Lucas Oil 150 by finishing sixth and taking the first Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race Award of the season. Terry Dougay (Albany, PE) gained 21 spots to receive the Absolute Traffic Services Hard Charger Award. Turple led 66 laps to pocket the Linde Most Laps Led Award. Five leaders swapped the lead ten times throughout the 150-lap affair.

Justin McNeil (Bedford, NS) won a 50 lap Maritime League of Legends Tour race to start the day off. Joining McNeil on the podium was Matt Moore (Falmouth, NS) and Emily Meehan (Rawdon, NS).
