pro stock tour(Halifax, NS, July 10, 2013) The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is headed to Petty International Raceway this Saturday for the second attempt at the Fast Eddie Racewear 100. The Fast Eddie Racewear 100 was originally scheduled for June 1st but was postponed due to rain. The 100-lap stock car event marks round six of 12 for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour – the halfway point of the season for the series. Qualifying for the Fast Eddie Racewear 100 will take place at 5:10 PM with Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials, feature racing is slated for 6:00 PM. Tickets for the Fast Eddie Racewear 100 will be available at the gate on race day.

John Flemming (Halifax, NS) took home his third win of the season last weekend in Geary, New Brunswick during the Irving Blending & Packaging 100 after making an outside pass on Shawn Tucker (Fredericton, NB) in the closing laps of the event. For Tucker, it was the second consecutive race he was involved in the final lead change of the night, only to finish second when the checkered flag flew. Two weeks ago at Petty International Raceway, Tucker was passed on the last lap of the Lucas Oil 150 by eventual first-time winner Dylan Gosbee (Cornwall, PE).

Flemming enters the event with a 43 point lead over Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS). While Flemming has been a strong contender all season long, including leading the most laps at the track in the June 30th Lucas Oil 150, he has never finished better than fourth in five previous starts at Petty International Raceway. Turple, a winner at this track back in August, is being chased in the standings by Prince Edward Island drivers Greg Proude (Springvale, PE), Gosbee and Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown, PE).

With five races in the books, the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Year battle is charging up! Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) leads Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) by 24 points but it is Denver Foran (Edmonton, AB) who has been on the move by taking the last two Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race Awards. Foran is within two points of Butcher for second in the freshman race while Colby Smith (Cape Sable Island, NS) currently sits fourth in the very competitive rookie class.

Bandoleros and the Maritime League of Legends Tour will race on the undercard prior to the Fast Eddie Racewear 100. Admission for the Fast Eddie Racewear 100 is $25.00 for adults, $10.00 for youth (8-15 years old); pit admission is $30.00. Children 7 and under are admitted for free.
