BLENKHORN GOES TWO FOR TWO AT IRVING OIL BLENDING & PACKAGING 100
(Moncton, NB, May 30, 2015) – Dylan Blenkhorn of Truro, Nova Scotia recorded his second Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour feature win in as many races by driving to victory lane in the Irving Oil Blending & Packaging 100 at Petty International Raceway. Blenkhorn made the winning pass in his #67 Quinn Flooring Chevrolet on the outside of Greg Proude’s #29 Atlantic Dodge Dealers Dodge on Lap 61 and held on for his fifth career Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour victory. Darren MacKinnon (Milton Station, PE) made a last lap pass in the final corner on Proude (Springvale, PE) to take second. Proude was third with Marty Prevost (Fall River, NS) and Donald Chisholm (Antigonish, NS) completing the top five.
Blenkhorn started the day out setting Fast Time in Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials with a 13.609 second lap and then crossing the line first to win the King Freight Dash For Cash. Dartmouth Dodge Heat Races were won by Crapaud, PE’s Kent Vincent and Chisholm. DJ Casey (Prospect, NS) took home the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race Award with an impressive 6th place finish. With the win, Blenkhorn moves to eighth in the All Time Win List on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour with five career wins.
Three of Petty International Raceway’s support classes opened the evening’s racing action. Ashton Tucker (Lyttleton) took the checkered in the Leisure Days RV Bandolero class over Michael Cormier (Grand Barachois) and Levi Rossiter (Salisbury). Reigning Mister Transmission Mini Stock champion JR Lawson (Shubenacadie, NS) went to victory lane in their 25-lap feature over Kody Quinn (Glace Bay, NS) and Mike Edwards (Penobosquis). Defending NAPA CMax Street Stock champion Kenny MacKenzie Jr (Salisbury) muscled his way around rookie Courtney O’Blenis to take home his first feature win of the season. Nick Cudmore (Salisbury) completed the top three in the Street Stock feature.
