BLENKHORN EDGES BUTCHER TO WIN DARTMOUTH DODGE 200 AT SCOTIA SPEEDWORLD

(Halifax, NS, September 19, 2015) While Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) and Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) put on an incredible display of short track racing at the front of the field in the Dartmouth Dodge 200, it was Donald Chisholm (Antigonish, NS) who recorded his first Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour championship.

Blenkhorn and Butcher exchanged the lead 26 times at the front of the Dartmouth Dodge 200 at Scotia Speedworld, with the 2013 Exide Batteries Rookie of the Year edging out Butcher, who led 105 laps, for the win in the final race of the season. Championship hopeful Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown, PE) finished the race in third place followed by Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) and Chisholm.

Chisholm’s championship comes on the strength of consistency and one feature win, which took place last weekend in the Lucas Oil 150 at Riverside International Speedway. Chisholm is the sixth different champion in the 15 year history of the series. Butcher ends the season second in the point standings with Blenkhorn in third.

Dylan Gosbee (Cornwall, PE) paced the 20 car field in the Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials with a 14.355 second lap. Chisholm started off the evening by winning the pole for the Dartmouth Dodge 200 via the King Freight Dash for Cash. Dartmouth Dodge Heat Races were won by Flemming Motorsports teammates John Flemming (Halifax, NS) and Exide Batteries Rookie of the Year DJ Casey (Prospect Road, NS).

Scotia Speedworld’s Dartmouth Dodge Sportsman series kicked off the day’s festivities with a 50 lap feature. Aaron Boutilier (Porter’s Lake) came home first, followed by Matt Moore (Falmouth, NS) in second and Travis Roma (Porter’s lake, NS) in third. Pete Miller (Kennetcook, NS) and Shane Coffen (Victoria, NL) rounded out the top five.

Chisholm will officially receive his championship spoils at the 2015 Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour Year End Awards Banquet on November 14th, in Dartmouth NS.
