DARTMOUTH DODGE 200 SET TO CLOSE OUT 2016 PRO STOCK TOUR SEASON

(Halifax, NS, September 13, 2016) The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour will close out another sensational season this Saturday at Scotia Speedworld with the Dartmouth Dodge 200. After 11 events in five cities across the Maritimes it all comes down to the final 200 laps to decide who will be crowned the 2016 Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour Champion – and who will cash the $10,000.00 champions cheque! Please note the early start time for this event, qualifying for the Dartmouth Dodge 200 will begin at 4:00pm with Atlantic Tiltload heat races. Grandstand gates will open at 1:00 PM.

Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) enters the season finale with a comfortable 51 point lead over 2015 Series champion Donald Chisholm (Antigonish, NS) who sits P2 following his win at the Lucas Oil 150 last weekend. Butcher will clinch the championship with a 21st place finish or better on Saturday. Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) sits third in the championship chase after a mechanical issue late in the race forced the team to pit resulting in a 16th place finish at Riverside last weekend, essentially knocking the 99 team out of contention for the prestigious title.

The Parts for Trucks $50,000 points fund will be on the minds of many drivers entering Saturday’s finale. Although the championship may be out of reach realistically for those outside the top two, there is still a lot of cash on the line for other competitors who will be looking to improve or secure their year-end standings. The battle for second in championship points will be a great story line to watch as Chisholm, Slaunwhite and Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown, PE) sit within 30 points of each other heading into the finale.

The Exide Batteries Rookie of the Year battle will also come to a close on Saturday as Harry Ross White (Kennetcook, NS) looks to take home the title and the very unique trophy that goes along with. Ross enters the Dartmouth Dodge 200 with a 49 point lead over fellow Series rookie Nevin Scott (Marshfield, PE). Both drivers will also be looking to secure themselves in the top ten in year-end point standings.

The Pierce Racing Team will be honoured for their almost four decades of participation in Maritime Motorsports during a brief ceremony prior to feature racing.

The Upper Clements Park Maritime League of Legends will take centre stage Saturday in a 50-lap feature prior to the Dartmouth Dodge 200.

Joe Chisholm and the crew from Race Time Radio will be streaming the Season Finale Dartmouth Dodge 200 live from Scotia Speedworld. The broadcast will be available to listeners absolutely free via www.racetimeradio.com by clicking the “Listen Live” links in the upper right of the page, or by downloading their smart phone App, for iPad, iPhone, & Android.
