BLENKHORN TAKES HOME FIRST VICTORY OF THE PRO STOCK TOUR SEASON

(Halifax, NS, May 24, 2015) – In a race that was dominated by Porter’s Lake, Nova Scotia’s Cole Butcher, it was Dylan Blenkhorn of Truro who eventually captured his fourth career win on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour Sunday at Scotia Speedworld during the Lucas Oil 100. Blenkhorn led the final seven laps of the event after taking the lead from Dylan Gosbee of Cornwall, PE on lap 93. Gosbee wrestled the lead away from Butcher on lap 85 and finished second behind Blenkhorn’s #67 Quinn Flooring Chevrolet. Two-time series champion Shawn Turple rallied to finish third after a fluid leak forced the Enfield, NS driver pit side just past the halfway point in the race. Donald Chisholm (Antigonish) and Butcher completed the top five.

Gosbee set the pace in Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials by setting a Fast Time of 14.205 seconds. Butcher won the King Freight Dash for Cash and the right to start the 15th Anniversary season from the pole position. The remainder of the 24 car field was set through the Dartmouth Dodge Heat Races which were won by New Glasgow’s George Koszkulics and Sydney’s Jerome Kehoe. DJ Casey (Prospect, NS) captured the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race Award with a 14th place finish in his first career Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour start.
