Scarborough,Maine- Mike Rowe extended his NASCAR Whelan All American Series point lead with another victory on Saturday night in the Pro Series division at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. Justin Cusack dominated the Sport Series division as did Matt Gain in the Wildcat main event. Shawn Brackett joined them in victory lane as winner of the Road Runner feature race.
The 40 lap Pro Series race saw Jay Sands jump into the lead with T.J. Brackett and Bub Bilodeau close behind. Bilodeau took to the outside groove at lap 5 and moved to second place, his charge was just beginning. Bilodeau moved to the lead on lap 6 and pulled away from the field by a full straightaway length. Mike Rowe sliced his way to second place at lap 14 but Bilodeau was barely visible as he was way in front.
Rowe went with full throttle lap after lap until he arrived on Bilodeau’s rear bumper just 6 laps after getting to second place. Rowe went to the outside on Bilodeau on lap 25 and took the lead but the caution flag would wave on lap 27 setting up a Rowe-Bilodeau match up. Bilodeau actually got the jump on the green flag and again Rowe had to work his way back around Bilodeau which he was able to do on lap 32 leading to the finish. Bilodeau was second followed by Mike Maietta Jr, T.J. Brackett and Aaron Ricker.
Frank Wear led the opening laps of the Sport Series main event rather easily until a caution flag spoiled his run at lap 13. Wear went to work trying to hold off Justin Cusack on the restart but Cusack was able to power his way into the lead and promptly checked out on the field for his third win of the season. Craig Smith finished second with Scott Dorr third. Wear and Sally Gherardi filled the fourth and fifth positions at the finish.
Matt Gain had been knocking on the door to victory lane several times this season only to be denied for various reasons. On Saturday night Gain kicked open the door and claimed his first career Wildcat checkered flag. Gain took the lead on lap 2 from Paul Lund and never looked back winning by a very comfortable margin over Andy Ayers in second place. Alby Ovitt posted another strong run with third place and Mike Ramsey was fourth. Darin Kilton took the fifth place money.
Shawn Brackett made a 3 wide pass for the lead on lap 7 and then held off Ray Letellier for the Road Runner feature win. Finishing third was Taylor Lampron with her best finish this season and Matt Dow was fourth. Don Dinsmore took home a solid fifth place trophy.

Montmagny, QC – Patrick Laperle of St-Denis-sur-Richelieu, QC captured his second win of the 2009 Série ACT Castrol season at the Montmagny 250 in Montmagny, QC. Laperle took the green in the 14th starting position and quickly moved to the front of the field. After taking the lead on lap 27 Laperle clearly had the car to beat. Laperle held the lead until Karl Allard took over on lap 114 after pitting for fresh tires.
Allard then lead until after Laperle pitted for the new tires. At that point is was clear that Laperle had the dominant car. Laperle then took the lead again on lap 169 and lead the rest of the way. Allard would hang on for second and current point leader Donald Theetge finished third. Patrick Hamel and Justin Holtom were the only other two cars on the lead lap and finished fourth and fifth. Patrick Cliche, Jean-François Déry, Jonathan Desbiens, Claude Leclerc and Jacques Poulin completed the top ten.
Twenty-four cars were in attendance and they all took the initial green flag. Fourteen cars completed the race after 12 cautions.

OXFORD, Maine – Travis Stearns became the eighth different winner in 10 Oxford Networks Late Model features this season, leading from wire-to-wire to post his third career victory in the 40-lap main event of the annual Summer Celebration at Oxford Plains Speedway.
“I was lucky to start where I did, because the car wasn’t that good,” said Stearns, who could have fooled everyone else in that regard, considering his two-second margin of victory. “I wasn’t even going to race tonight, but the crew put this thing back together (after a crash) Thursday night, and here we are.”
Ben Ashline took over second position from Gerald Parlin just shy of the halfway point. Without a caution period to wipe out Stearns lead, however, the 18-year-old was forced to settle for second.
That matched a career best.
“Again, that’s like a win for us to be up here on the podium with these guys,” Ashline said.
The lead trifecta in Thursday night’s special charged to third, fourth and fifth. Tommy Ricker backed up his win by racing to the final trophy position, with Don Wentworth fourth and Jeff White fifth.
Division point leader Travis Adams was relegated to ninth, his first finish outside the top five all season.
Skip Tripp extended his Allen’s Coffee Flavored Brandy Strictly Stock point lead, posting his fifth victory of the season after another terrific tussle with rival and division runner-up Mike Short.
It was Tripp’s second win of the week after an easier triumph in the Thursday 60-lap special. Matt Williams matched his best run of the season in third, followed by Zach Emerson and his father Larry Emerson.
Steve Barker continued his mid-season surge, snagging his second Allen’s Mini Stock victory of the campaign in convincing fashion.
Barker bolted from fourth to first in less than 3/8 of a mile after a lap 5 restart, taking away the top spot from Ken Daigle Jr.
Jimmy Childs was second, followed by division point leader Justin Karkos, defending champion Ashley Marshall and rookie Calvin Rose Jr.
Jim Davis Jr. and Chris Coolidge were conquerors in twin 20-lap Chimney Tech Outlaw events. Davis’ win was the fourth of the season for the past champion, while Coolidge paid his first visit to victory lane this summer.
Guy Childs emerged from a tremendous scrap for second behind Davis, with great-nephew Josh Childs making an outside rally from sixth to third over the final three laps. John Patria and Addison Bowie rounded out the top five.
Coolidge eased to a caution-free win over Doug Degroat and Jerry Freve. Todd Hall and Phil Knowlton followed.
Reigning Agren Appliance Saturday Showdown champion Dottie Patria posted her fourth Allen’s Ladies win in five weekend starts. Both Patria and Vanna Brackett rallied from a tangle on the first lap to run first and second.
Christina Spaulding led early before slipping back to third, with Missy Morgan and Shannon Wheeler next in line.
OPS returns to action three times in the coming week, with the Acceleration Series on Wednesday, Motor Mayhem Friday and the Championship Series Saturday. The green flag flies each night at 6:30 p.m.
