St-Eustache, QC – Patrick Laperle of St-Denis, QC claimed the St-Eustache 100 win in front of his hometown crowd at Autodrome St-Eustache on Saturday, September 14. The 100-lap event was originally scheduled for June 1 but was postponed twice due to rain before being scheduled as the first leg of a doubleheader weekend. Jean-François Déry of Quebec City took second position and strengthened his point lead heading into tomorrow’s 200-lap finale at St-Eustache.

Second place point man Alex Labbe of St-Albert, QC led early in the event before fading backwards in the middle stages of the event. Donald Theetge stole the lead from Labbe until contact on a lap 15 restart sent him spinning in turn one. Jonathan Bouvrette edged Labbe on the ensuing restart and appeared to be the fastest car on the track until Déry got by him while the two worked through lapped traffic.

Austin Theriault earns pole for Super Late Model 300 Sunday

Scarborough, Maine – Ryan Phillips of Buxton, Maine scored a career-first PASS Modified victory, while Gorham’s Craig Smith prevailed in a 75-lap open event for Wildcat/Strictly Stock division racers, topping the feature racing card to kick off Southern Maine Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge 400 weekend at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway.

Austin Theriault of Fort Kent will start from the pole in Sunday’s Pro All Stars series Super Late Model 300 after winning his qualifying heat race on Saturday. DJ Shaw of Center Conway, New Hampshire and Corey Bubar of Windham also won heat races to set the 30-car starting field for Sunday’s main event.

Other feature races were held for the mid-week series racers after their originally-scheduled Thursday night event was washed out. Matt Dufault of Turner, Alex Lacognata of Scarborough, Chad Emery of Buxton, Jeff walker of Waterboro and Freeport’s Matt Curtis were triumphant in those events.

Al Wisialko, Earl Curtin, Len Sousa, Curtis Rolando and Cassie Meservey pick up Seekonk Fast Friday wins.

Earl Curtin III made quick work from his fourth row starting position, and moved past early leader Kei-Lyn Manfredo on the fourth circuit of the 25 lap Pure Stock feature to pick up his third victory of the season. Manfredo jumped out in front of Dan Johnson on the opening lap, and set the early lead. Her top position didn’t last long until Curtin found the outside and moved past the third year driver.

WEST HAVEN, VT – Modified stock car driver Joe Williams and Late Model racer Robert Bryant, Jr., highlighted an exciting opening day at the Vermont 200 Championship Weekend at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Saturday, September 14. Williams and Bryant scored victories in 10-lap “Shootout” races for weekly competitors who had not yet won a NASCAR Whelen All-American Series main event in 2013.

Scotia, NY driver Williams nearly didn’t complete the opening lap in the Bond Auto Parts Modified Shootout. Williams bounced through an opening-lap scrape involving Jamie LaFountain and Vince Quenneville, Jr., but escaped and sped to the win ahead of Ron Proctor and Cody Sargen. Bryant, of Brooklyn, CT, dominated the Late Model Shootout with rookies Seth Bridge and Tom Eriksen in tow.

Ryan Preece Notches First VMRS Win At Stafford

Stafford Springs CT — Ryan Preece, of Berlin, CT, started outside front row, jumped into the lead, and was never headed as he won the 4th annual Lincoln Tech 80, Friday night, at Stafford Motor Speedway, Stafford, CT.

Preece becomes the 10th different winner this season in 14 races and the third first-time series winner in 2013.

Preece received pressure early on from Ted Christopher, of Plainville CT. Christopher dropped out with mechanical problems during the only caution period on lap 34. From that point on it was all Preece to the checkered flag.
