Excitement building for 50th annual Milk Bowl at Thunder Road

BARRE, Vt. — It’s known as the one of the toughest short track races in the nation, and this year’s edition is going to be very special for a number of reasons.

Race fans around the northeast are gearing up for a very special weekend in Vermont on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 29-30, as officials at Barre’s famed Thunder Road International Speedbowl present the 50th annual People’s United Bank Milk Bowl.

With its three-segment, Monza- style format with an inverted field after each stint, the Milk Bowl is without argument the biggest annual challenge for any driver who earns a coveted starting position.

THOMPSON IS GEARING UP FOR WORLD SERIES

With the Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing presented by Town Fair Tire and Xtra Mart only three weeks away, the Thompson International Speedway if in full swing preparing for the incredible three-day racing spectacular.

This year’s World Series event, October 12-14, will be the biggest World Series ever with special attention directed to the Saturday night portion of the program. In previous years, roughly half of the participating divisions ran their feature events on Saturday night in front of large crowds who enjoyed the incredible diversity of race cars and race trucks. This year, that same Saturday night fun will be significantly increased with the addition of a Valenti Modified Racing Series 75-lap feature event. Divisions that will be part of the feature event lineup on Saturday will qualify on Friday except for the Valenti Modifieds. VRMS competitors will qualify and race on Saturday. The divisions racing on Sunday will qualify early Saturday afternoon.

Oxford Plains Speedway caps off PASS North season Sunday

Naples ME (9/26) All racing roads lead to Oxford Plains Speedway this weekend when three Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North racing series wrap up their 2012 season.

The final round of the PASS super late model title fight headlines Sunday’s action when two second generation racers duke it out for the crown.

Cassius Clark went into last weekend’s penultimate round at White Mountain Motorsports Park with a slim eight point championship lead, but an early race tangle for Clark combined with a strong second place run by Travis Benjamin turned the tables atop the standings. Now Benjamin’s the man on top of the heap, but his eight point margin is by no means comfortable.

Granite State Pro Stock Series Championship Showdown Set for Monadnock
Cabral Leads Baillargeon by 14 points entering season finale

WINCHESTER, NH — Granite State Pro Stock Series point leader Bobby Cabral will take a 14-point lead into the season finale JBH 100 on Saturday, September 29 at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, NH.

Cabral, of East Kingston, NH, has had an impressive season thus far, as he had picked up top-five finishes in every event until the series last race at Canaan Fair Speedway. The veteran racer won the Gate City Classic 100 at Hudson Speedway in July and has been steady in the inaugural season of the Granite State Pro Stock Series. His worst finish on the season is a seventh place finish.
