Trevor Bayne Ready To Defend Daytona 500 Win
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – This year’s Preseason Thunder testing sessions in preparation for the 54th annual Daytona 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Feb. 26 has a different feel for Trevor Bayne.
The driver of the No. 21 Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Fusion for Wood Brothers Racing returns to Daytona International Speedway as the defending Daytona 500 champion.
In last year’s Daytona 500, Bayne stunned the racing world at the age of 20 by becoming the youngest champion of the “Great American Race” driving for the legendary Wood Brothers.

Day One of Daytona Preseason Thunder: Drivers Talk Daytona 500 and Set-Up Changes
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona Preseason Thunder, the annual three-day NASCAR Sprint Cup Series test session at Daytona International Speedway that preludes the 54th running of the Daytona 500, began Thursday at Daytona International Speedway. Throughout the day, drivers took a break from turning laps at the “World Center of Racing” to chat with media about the start of the upcoming NASCAR season.
Dale Earnhardt Jr., driver of the No. 88 Diet Mountain Dew National Guard Chevrolet and 2004 Daytona 500 champion, discussed what winning again at Daytona would mean as he sat next to the Harley J. Earl trophy for the 2012 Daytona 500.

Virginian’s Decision To Race Instead Of Cut Wood Benefited Many Racing Stars
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 13, 2012) – Glen Wood began his working life hauling timber to Virginia’s sawmills before deciding that racing cars offered a more exciting – and ultimately profitable – way of life.
It turned out to be a decision well made. The complete story of Wood’s accomplishments in NASCAR has yet to be written but the next chapter unfolds Jan. 20 when the 86-year-old Wood is inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
