John Hoyt, 37, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, July 29, 2011 in Claremont, NH.
He was born in Claremont, NH on February 2, 1974 the son of Sidney Hoyt and Linda Patch.
John was a graduate of Stevens High School in the Class of 1992.
At the time of his passing he was working with the Valenti Modified Racing Series as their Series Director and had previously worked for Twin State Speedway. He had been involved in racing since he was in high school, working with the Valenti Modified Racing Series, Whelen Modifieds and Pro Stocks and had worked with Mike Brousseau, Ricky Miller and many others. INDIANAPOLIS — Years ago, as a garage rat at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Paul Menard dreamed of winning a race at the vaunted Brickyard.
On Sunday, the dream came true. In a season full of improbable first-time winners in NASCAR’s foremost races, Menard, 30, stretched his fuel mileage and held off charging Jeff Gordon to win the Brickyard 400 at the 2.5-mile track.
