FREDERICTON: Saturday night at the Fredericton Inn Speedway 660 held its annual Awards banquet to honour the champions and award winners from the past season. With a great crowd of over 300 on hand this evening is always a hit as a mid winter gathering to celebrate the past years events and get excited about the upcoming season.
The big winners in 2010 were division champions Chris Duncan, Ken Mackenzie, Rick Cashol, Ryan Messer, Kevin Peterson and Pat Sharpe.
This years Hughie Yorke Dedication to the Sport award was presented to long time supporters Richard and Ann Martin of Martins Home Heating. (more…)
Homecoming Sweet For SoCal’s Bowles – 2009 K&N West Champ Returns For Showdown Victory
IRWINDALE, Calif. – Jason Bowles got the one victory that had alluded him during his NASCAR K&N Pro Series West career. The Ontario, Calif., native drove the No. 75 Rusty Wallace Racing Experience Toyota to the win in the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown Saturday night.
Bowles grabbed the lead on the race’s final restart and held off DJ Kennington through the final eight laps. The win for Bowles, the 2009 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West champion, came in front of a sold-out crowd at NASCAR’s premier short-track event. (more…)
CHAMPIONS HONORED AT THOMPSON’S ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUETS
THOMPSON, CT. Six NASCAR Whelen All-American Series track champions were honored over the weekend at the Thompson International Speedway’s annual awards banquets. It took two evenings to pay tribute to all of the champions as well as racers who finished in the top ten in the points standings in their 2010 racing divisions.
Ted Christopher claimed his third Sunoco Modified title in the past ten years by winning an amazing ten feature event races during the 2010 racing season. Also honored during the Saturday night gala was Late Model division champion, Rick Gentes and Thompson Modified division titlist, R. J. Marcotte. (more…)
