Rocco Wins VMRS – Thompson World Series 50
(Thompson, CT.) — Keith Rocco of Wallingford, CT., started outside front row, fought off the challenges of Todd Szegedy and later Woody Pitkat, to go on and win the 50-lap Valenti Modified Racing Series season finale at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, Thompson, CT Saturday night., October 17,
The win was Rocco’s second VMRS at Thompson and his 6th career series win.

Carzello Wins the 2015 Final Sportsman Modified Event

WINCHESTER—The engines fired for one last time on Saturday to conclude the 2015 season at Monadnock Speedway. With all five weekly divisions, plus young guns, big wheel races, spectator races, school bus rides, and the great school bus race, the season finale was action packed and full of fun.
The grand finale for Monadnock’s 2015 season contained one of the best Sportsman Modified races all year. The race claimed an early victim as youngster TJ Bleau lost control coming off of turn 4, and backed it up toward the wall by the start finish line. The unfortunate resting place for Bleau spelled doom for NASCAR NH Rookie of the Year Jason Barden, who’s left front clipped the left rear bar of Bleau, causing heavy damage to the to the #27. At the front of the pack, some familiar faces took command as points champion Bill Kimball looked to chase down 2nd place Scott MacMichael and Keith Carzello, who ran out front.

Kevin Harvick, driver of the No. 4 Jimmy John’s/Budweiser Chevrolet SS, led the four-car Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) contingent Sunday at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway by finishing second in the rain-postponed Bank of America 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. It was Harvick’s series-leading 11th second-place finish this season and his 14th top-two finish in the 30 races run in 2015.

Defending Milk Bowl champion Eddie MacDonald’s quest to repeat ended with a hard crash into the front stretch wall at Thunder Road in Barre, Vermont after only two laps in the second segment. The 53rd running of the Northfield Savings Bank Milk Bowl attracted 47 Late Models on Saturday and Sunday October 10 and 11 all vying for the converted 30 starting positions.
Eddie Mac qualified Saturday for the event while posting a third place finish in the first of three qualifying races. The Rowley, Mass. Veteran missed qualifying on speed when he posted the fourth fastest time of the day. The top three cars automatically received starting positions in the race commonly called the “toughest short track race in the country.” With the third place run Eddie Mac, driving the Exit Realty/Hancock Electric Chevy, earned the tenth starting position for the Sunday feature before a packed stadium. Barre, VT – Local hero Nick Sweet added to his growing legend on Sunday, October 11, slicing through the field in the final laps to win the final segment and capture his second career Northfield Savings Bank Milk Bowl win in the 2015 Thunder Road season finale.
The multi-time Thunder Road Late Model Champion entered the final segment trailing rival and three-time defending “King of the Road” Derrick O’Donnell by five points in the overall tally and was running seventh to O’Donnell’s eleventh when the first of three caution flags flew on lap 37 of the 50-lap segment. Seeing the Milk Bowl within his grasp, Sweet seized the moment, needing just seven more laps to charge to the lead.
