Mini Sprints added to Big Daddy’s October 9 Open Modified Show

WENTWORTH, NH – Dave Haskell of Haskell Motorsports has announced that Mike Rivers of Big Daddy’s Speedbowl has added a program of Mini Sprints to the Big Daddy’s Open Modified show on Saturday October 9.
“Mike enjoyed having the Sprint Cars of New England and the Granite State Mini Sprints in his first year as promoter and operator at Big Daddy’s and he’s looking forward to having some additional Mini Sprint competitors for his big end of the season event,” Haskell said.

Broken Wrist Doesn’t Slow Tara Galko at Whip City Speedway

WESTFIELD, MA – Driving with a wrist she broke in a racing accident two weeks ago, Tara Galko of Meriden, CT had the best night of her racing life as she captured her 270cc heat and went on to win her first Mini Sprint feature. The 18 year old nursing student at Southern Connecticut State University had to withstand a pair of restarts and a determined challenge from points leader Seth Carlson, who pulled alongside on multiple occasions, but couldn’t complete the pass.
“I was a little nervous on the second restart because I knew Seth would be right behind me and he’s tough, but I made up my mind that I wasn’t going to let him get by me,” a smiling Galko said in victory lane.

Will Collins wins a wild one at Unity Raceway
Unity, Maine – Will Collins of Appleton earned his first trip to victory lane in the Late Model division at Unity Raceway, overcoming a mid-race penalty to best all rivals in a wild main event.
Collins was running in second position behind Ben Erskine of Solon when racing officials penalized both frontrunners for unapproved restart antics, handing the lead to Louis Picard. Collins dug deep, survived a bit of mayhem surrounding him and reclaimed the race lead.

Joey Polewarczyk: ACT Late Model Tour
ACT Invitational
Joey Polewarczyk Jr. of Hudson, N.H., won the ACT Late Model Tour’s second annual ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, N.H., on Saturday, September 18. Polewarczyk, who earlier this season gave Ford Racing its first ACT win, handed the manufacturer its first ACT Invitational victory. Polewarczyk started 29th in the 43-car field and rallied to the front in the 60-lap event by taking the lead on Lap 54. Polewarczyk called the victory “the biggest win of my career.” It was his third win in ACT competition this season, all coming since mid-July.
