Kurt Conklin Takes 750 Sportsman win at the Whip

WESTFIELD, MA – In only his second 750cc Sportsman start, Kurt Conklin did the only thing he could do to improve on his second place finish last week by winning the 20 lap feature. Conklin, a regular competitor in the 270cc Mini Sprints this season, also finished sixth in that division.

Jay Coppo (600cc) and John Casazza (750cc) each picked up his third win of the year while Jon Moore (1200cc) used his fourth win to extend his points lead. Brett Crowther garnered up his second Modified Lite victory of the season.

Drive For Five: Johnny Clark Wins PASS 300

SCARBOROUGH, Maine — Johnny Clark continued his storybook season on Sunday afternoon at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, winning the PASS 300 for his fifth PASS North Series victory of the year and firming his grasp on a fifth career series championship.

“We’ve been on an awesome tear all year long,” said Clark, a two-time winner of the PASS 300, having won the event in 2008 as well. “This is just phenomenal.”

Clark took the lead from Bill Rodgers on Lap 260 and then held off Cassius Clark on a restart with 19 laps remaining.

Matt Caissie Wins Enduro 200: Sharpe takes home Championship

September 11, 2010- Due to Hurricane Earl during SPEEDWEEKEND the third and final Enduro race for the 2010 season in the Geary woods was held on Saturday night under the lights. The event saw 21 cars make their way to compete on the 1/3 mile asphalt. The winner on the evening was Matt Caissie in his #19. The last 50 lap segment was pure excitement with the #13 of Greg Hopkins doing a barrel roll and the #70 of Darrell Harris flipping on its roof. In the end the real winners on this day were the nearly 3000 fans who came bundled for the cool weather to watch the bumping and banging of their favourite drivers and at the end of the evening they were treated to a spectacular firework display.

Ramstrom Takes Points Lead At Thompson

Derek Ramstrom of West Boylston, Mass., finished fourth in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Super Late Model feature at Thompson International Speedway in Thompson, Conn., on Thursday night. With the Top-5 run in the 30-lap main event, Ramstrom assumed the division point lead by two points with three races remaining as he tried to win a second consecutive track championship. Ramstrom battled a tight track under cool conditions and managed to avoid an oil spill on the track that collected a number of cars in an incident early in the race.
